You're being punished for something pal. Ask the kids. They know everything. In the meantime, leave her alone. She just can't handle even talking about it right now. Humor is a good way to break the ice. My fiance' would probably try to make me laugh. If I didn't, he would just get more ridiculous until I cracked. Maybe it's PMS, or menopause, who knows? We're wierd.

Three things:
Apologize, communication and lots of humility.
Start with a sincere apology, either in person, or if that won't work, as some suggested, by letter. Apologize for anything you have done and make it clear you really want to fix whatever it is you've done (this is where the humility comes in, allowing yourself to be the problem even if you aren't) but you need her to be able to express herself.
Make it clear how much she means to you and how important it is to you to improve the relationship. That you can't live without her, this is tearing you up.
Whenever she does open up, listen listen and listen. Try to refrain from justifying yourself, and defending yourself. Some of what she says make not be how you see it, may be completely inaccurate, but its how she is feeling, and remember how much you want this to be better! It's going to take lots of self-control and humbly accepting things you may not agree with, but its a start. Once you've made that first step, and opened up communication and she sees you won't try to override her feelings, then maybe you can talk about how you've been feeling.
Patience and love! And I really hop it all works out for you! Don't give up! Keep on working on this as long as it takes

OK, set a time and date for just the two of you so you both can talk it out, asks her what did you do wrong if anything. She could be shutting you out because she is not happy with the relationship, or maybe it's because you two don't spend a lot of time together, or maybe it's because she thinks that you have changed. Just try to remember the things that you use to do when you two were dating, like send flowers with cards in the (with a message), do something that you know that she would like.
If you two have had many arguments before she started shutting you out, then maybe she just wants to move on with her life.

I think you should take the help of her dear friend, sister or mom and ask them to help you find out why she is mad with you. Ak them for assistance and tell them that how you are so very worried about her condition and her withdrawn and angry mental state and that you are also worried that something is bugging her badly. Also tell them that you truly love her and want to know what you did wrong, so that you can at least try to rectify it. Ask them not to tell your wife that you were being so emotional and that you asked them for their help but only to probe out the reason, why she is unhappy. That will surely make them find out the reason for you and also tell her how you were worried about her and what you said about her etc. Women's nature, you know. Are you sure that you do not habitually insult her or derogate her? That could be a reason for being withdrawn. Just a suggestion.

Stop asking - she won't answer. Write her a letter and stick it under the door. Tell her that without communication you cannot possibly fix what's eating her, and that the image she is projecting to the kids is one of a selfish spoiled brat. Also write the numbers of a few therapists nearby and TELL HER to call and make an appointment - NOW. Let her know that her behaviour is UNACCEPTABLE, and that if she does not change it, she is welcome to take herself somewhere else and play her little games. NOTE: DO NOT "REWARD" HER BY GETTING FLOWERS OR GIFTS.
