NO, no parent has to agree to anything in Mediation .. Mediation is there so that the situation does not become violent (like it can). IF there is no agreement in mediation, then yes, the case will be taken to court.

Yes, she can refuse. A mediator only mediates, so you guys don't come to blows!
I've been there, and they really do try to work it out w/o having to go to court. We "mediated" for 4 hours, until he heard he had to pay child support, then we had to go to court. (he had to pay anyways)

no you do not have to agree at mediation, if you dont agree it will go to court! been there, did that, done that. mediation is an alternative to having to go to court and if either party disagrees the mediator will let it go in front of a judge.
