My friend got left at home by her self with a sister who tends to have parties with achol when her mom is not at home. The mom has known about this but still leaves the kids at home for long periods of times. Like this weekend she has headed to Flordia her kids are not sure what part or why? Just wondering

Well it's not good to but I would bring it up to someone's attention becuase what if one day they throw a party and someone gets alcohol poisiong or something? I bet nobody would know what to do and then who would be to blame?

It sounds like you are friends with the 12 year old and because you are so young yourself you need to tell your Mom what is going on. Your friend should not be in the house when her sister has these parties. The sister is behaving just like her Mother, Irresponsibly. Because of the situation your Mom should call child protective services. This mother does not deserve to have children and the older sister needs to know what her boundaries are. Your friend deserves to live in a home where she is safe and secure. Tell your Mom and get her help with this you are just not old enough to handle this problem yourself.

It's called CHILD NEGLECT and it is ILLEGAL, not to mention STUPID. This is a "mom" who does not deserve to be in charge of kids - she's a selfish ignorant moron. If it were me, I would call child protective services or talk to the police. This woman is creating an accident waiting to happen and she needs to be stopped before something really aweful happens. DO NOT TELL ANYBODY IF YOU CALL THE AUTHORITIES ON HER. It may come back on you, and this "mom" has already proven she lacks any kind of common sense or regard for others. She's capable of just about anything.

Your friends Mom is not very responsible and her lack of concern for her daughters welfare is unhealthy....but it is what it is. If you called CPS and the girls are taken away it could be a lot worse.
Your friend will have her own issues in life to deal with and hopefully she will grow up to be a more responsible adult than her mother is.
You could also ask your parents to talk to your friends mom.

better than leaving your 8 year old and 11 year old with a nanny who hates kids and locks them out of the house

sounds like the mom is either too over trusting of her children or just really irresponsible....if she leaves them by themselves she should at least arrange a few surprise check ups from friends or family, just to make sure that there's no nonsense going on....

No, I think it is a lousy idea. Someone should call the DHS on this lady, or the children's father or somebody who will take care of them.

absolutely not! that mother needs parenting classes or something. some parents are very irresponsible and it could lead to teen pregnacy, violence, or even worse. that just makes me ill.
