usually when someone has been divorced and has kids, or when someone use to drink or use drugs. that is baggage

A women with 5 kids would be considered baggage. Or a women with a dramatic life style, ex boyfriend still in the picture. Good example of baggage.

Baggage is problems people are still holding on to and are carried around with them (like in a "bag"). For instance...someone might have emotional baggage from a previous relationship, which they really shouldn't jump into a new one until they stop carrying that baggage and let it go.

Anything and everything that one keeps dragging around with them through life, relationships etc. When it really should be put away - thrown away - or lost! Baggage weighs one down, gets pretty heavy at times, but mostly...there is no where to store it when one arrives at their next destination in Life.
