MY friend and I have tried alot of stuff. I talked to my mom about smoking and she admmited she does it but yet she still hides it from me!!! WHY?????????
I've tried talking but she just says that She'll quit but doesnt do it. PLEASE
anyone have ANY IDEAS. I KNOW THIS CAN CHANGE HER LIFE. thanks

She already knows you're right - I'm sure. But it's not an easy thing to quit once you've gotten hooked. Let them know you care and really wish they'd quit...keep telling them....until they can't stand it. Let them know there are new meds out there to try, and new treatments to help smokers quit. Try to get them actively doing something that makes them breath HARD....then remind them how much easier breathing would be --- if they had FULL lung capacity. Don't give up, don't give in. The fact that they hide it from you shows they don't want to do it around you, and are ashamed of it.

My advice is to sit down with your parents and explain how concerned you are that they will not be around to see you grow up and have a family of your own one day. Tell them that those cigarettes may stop them from being around to share in the raising of your children someday. Ask them to stop smoking for their sake and for you, because you love them. Nothing will get their attention like the truth. A few tears may not hurt either, after all it is for a good cause, your parents lives...
