I live in an apartment I built for myself on my parents lot. Totally independent. I like my place and see nothing wrong with it. My parents are the best !!!!

They are quick to judge as there is a thing called "the jealousy factor - don’t fall for it!! They may not be in the position (financially) to have been blessed with the choice you have and some people actually get satisfaction by pulling others down...I say well done! Personally, I think there isn't any problem with it. It all depends on a bunch of factors. Do you help them out around the house and give them money when they need it or just because? In my religion, parents have the highest respect, especially mothers. We are to do everything we can for our mothers and accept whatever annoyance they cause in their old age because we did a lot worse to them when we were younger. They also sacrificed everything to bring us up. So, if this is the case, good for you. Even if it's not the case, who is anyone else to judge you for it? You love your parents. You want to be close to them. More people should respect and aspire to be somewhat like that. May God bless your positive aspirations. I don't know if you believe in God or not, but the point is that positive thoughts are with you.

Good on you, I am happy for you! Don't worry what other people say about you living with your parents. There is nothing wrong with that. Your parents love you so much and you are blessed to have parents who care about you and I'm sure you love them too. Just be thankful and thank God for that. Bless you!

Good for you! I wish I could have a place on my parents property, but I don't think they would be quite as pleased. My parents rock too, and I don't think there are enough young ones like myself that think that way!

then dont worry about it! do what u want, independent or not u are ur own person. live the way u want and not the way others say they want u to, if they have a problem tell them to buy u a house or what not! good luck

it is probably because when you have "activities " then they wouldnt want to be disturbed....
OR
they wouldnt want to be pressures to look to good infront of your mom and pops!!
