Family - January 2007

I have been married for 5 years and I though I thought we were happy he informed me I have been depressed for over a year. .We had lost our house and he had lost a job but then got another one. He has never been good with money and has always liked a expensive lifestyle . He was cought by me leaveing inapropitate comments on myspace . He is also wanting to go out more he works with mostly girls so thats who he mainly hangs out with but he has never really had a lot of guy friends anyway. He is also really into his clothes he always has been but over the past few years it has escalated. We have 2 kids and I love him. He always tells me the same but sometimes it seems like a lot of phony lip service because all of his actions point the other way then I feel more depressed should I just belive he loves me or continue to wonder?

When i was 9 there was a massive family fall out and i didn't see my half sister at all. I lost my brother and other sister but they have come back to our side of the family since. I am 16 now and My sister has been married and had a baby, I found out 5 months ago that she had breast cancer, i know i should have gone to see her and yes i do feel guilty, but just before christmas she died. My dad knows (it's his daughter) and hes acted like he doesn't care. My boyfriend said "if she cared then she'd have called - we both know that" So i can't talk to him - I'm not sure how to feel i feel guilty but i don't knwo what to do or what i can do - please help

I'm a second in a sibling. I've 21y old bro, 8y old bro and 5y old sis. I'm 16y old. My mum died last year. My dad is a truck driver and always not arround. Most of the time our elder brother will look after us. As he controlled the house, sometime I personally he's over controlled. For example I forgot to pick up our lil sis from kindergarten (my duty in our house). As the kindergarten is nearby our home her teacher sent her home and my brother was shocked as he's at home at that time. As I got back, he straight away slapped me once i openned the door, then only he told me where I gone wrong. I think he should at least speak or ask me before started to slap me?I hate him for doing that.But I dare not fight him back. Cause I know he done a lot for our family.I'm also scared of him btw.But what I hate the most is, he even slapped me in public when he saw me smoking last week.I know it's my fault, but i'm not happy the way he treated me.Beside that he's a good bro.What should I do?

now the whole of my dads family is coming for 'counselling' sessions with my dad to solve their failing marriages etc and to talk about THE biggest argument between 2 of the sisters. its making my dad really stressed. i want to say something to them when they come round here but i dont want to upset my dad. its really frustrating cos i can see how much its getting to him,( and my mum.) should i say something or should i keep my mouth shut? please help

okay my daddy sayes i don't respect him. but how can i respect some body who just poped back in to my life 3 years ago and shows no change my daddy always spent time with my brother and my step family but he never spent time with me then he have the nevres to say my mother moved away from him not him leavein her but i been in the same house for 12 years now and his old house aint that dang far away then he says he can't raise a gurl well i seen a lot of fathers raise a gurl in to a young lady might be a lil rought but they young ladies now that im bout to be 18 he sayes i don't respect him the little bit i gives him is enough 2 me frankly i think his step childer are the ones who should respect him he see them more than me i aint going to lie im a daddies gurl but hell its easy now that im grown i aint have no daddy so he thinks money puts a smile on my fazce when really i have a hold in my hurt wantin to know what a real father is like maybe im holdin it against him

i try all the time to act nice to the ***** i have to call my sister. she is 2 yrs. younger than me, and she thinks she runs the show. when ever i ask her to do something nicely, she ignores me. she only listens to my older sis. i try so hard to be nice to her, but she just won't be nice back. when i tell my mom, she ignores me or tells me i'm to blame! what can i do?? since about a week before my brother in laws death my mum seems to be always blowing up at me if say for example i don't reply straight away to something that is said or if i am quiet one day & she doesn't know why because she never bothers to ask.i'm 18 yrs old & the youngest & at the moment my brother lives with us & my sister her bf & her daughter live with us,but allthe time its me that gets shouted at for doing next to nothing, i think the most i have ever done is told my mum to shut up & i know its not nice but when you have someone in your face all the time it happens.like just before i went out of the room & i was heading back to my seat when my mum said i was giving her a nasty look i would've admitted doing it had i actually been looking at her at the time & then she goes off on one telling me if i do one more thing then my bags are going to be packed & she doesn't care where i end up.its odd because i'm the only one who has a job that has prospects as a polce officer.. help?

My son is the youngest of two kids. His sister is 11. He is the baby & both of them have gotten everything they wanted & more. He slept in his own crib & room until he was 2. Then my husband & I separated for a year and he slept in bed with my husband when he visited, he only had a 1 bedroom apartment. When my husband & I got back together Patrick was used to sleeping with him so I let it continue. He is now 5 & I have done evrything to make him sleep in his own room. Disney Cars bedsheets, like 10 night lites, the hallway lite is on as is his bathroom lite & his TV is on. He finishes his movie shuts off the lights & sneaks into his sister's room & sleeps with her. If her door is locked he will sleep in the hallway. I do not know what to do. If you ask him when he will sleep in his own room he says when he is 10. I can not wait that long! Help!

I haven't spoken to my bio dad in 7yrs. Thanx to the internet I found an adult brother (20) I knew I had all along. Keep in mind, I too am an adult. He,nor his sis knew they had other siblings. After contacting him via e-mail and we talked on the phone, he told our dad (our dad didn't raise me, but did him) that he knew. Then, my bro told our 14yr old sister that he grew up with! She called me and e-mailed, now we talk on a daily basis (it's been 2wks). They still have not told our dad, nor their mom that she now knows and on top of that there are 4 more siblings! He is an adult, so when we meet it is not their business. But her and I have really bonded the last couple of weeks, she's taken it very well and is excited to have a big sis she always wished for! How do we tell our bio dad and her mom so we can meet and talk without hiding it? Her mom has always been very bitter about our dads past and has hid everything trying to pretend it didn't exist. Why do they insist on punishing us?

My b/f is nice, doesn't swear and is good tempered the majority of the time but when his parents come round to visit he goes all weird. He finds something to get in a stress with me about like hes lost something and wants to know where it is and he'll start swearing and being rude like 'well you should f***ing well know where it is' and things even in front of our daughter. Why does he act like this when his parents are around?

My brother-in-law is a single Dad. He has one 5-year old daughter. He's had it pretty bad lately, major back surgery from lifting too much and he was in a car accident. But he can still get around. His car insurance is lapsed. No phone. Probably going to turn off the electric and water. He has no means to support himself whatsoever. He's about to be evicted from his rented home for non-payment. However he does manage to find the money for up his cigarette (and possibly pot) habit. All he does each day is sit around and watch TV. I think he could work, but he's hoping he'll get on disability. He has no plan for his life, and how he will get out of this mess.

What if anything should I do to help?

I am getting remmaried and my exhusband has had nothing to do with my daughter since he left. No visitation (his choice) no phone calls or anything. REFUSES TO be in her life, but refuses to relinquish his last name from her. I just don't want to be a family of six with her being the outcast.
