okay my daddy sayes i don't respect him. but how can i respect some body who just poped back in to my life 3 years ago and shows no change my daddy always spent time with my brother and my step family but he never spent time with me then he have the nevres to say my mother moved away from him not him leavein her but i been in the same house for 12 years now and his old house aint that dang far away then he says he can't raise a gurl well i seen a lot of fathers raise a gurl in to a young lady might be a lil rought but they young ladies now that im bout to be 18 he sayes i don't respect him the little bit i gives him is enough 2 me frankly i think his step childer are the ones who should respect him he see them more than me i aint going to lie im a daddies gurl but hell its easy now that im grown i aint have no daddy so he thinks money puts a smile on my fazce when really i have a hold in my hurt wantin to know what a real father is like maybe im holdin it against him

Here's the deal: We're supposed to respect our parents, regardless of whether they respect us or not. Yeah, it doesn't seem fair because my father doesn't respect me either, but we have to be the bigger people and set the right example. I do feel he is pushing you to be the daughter he thinks you should be, even though he's not being the father he should be. I don't really know how you would remedy this situation other than sitting down and telling him how you feel. If that doesn't work, sometimes you just have to give up on people. Continue to be the best person you can, and don't worry yourself with your father's problems. People will only change if they honestly want to. We cannot force them.

Tell him how you feel first of all. And try to forget the past because by remembering it you are just going to feel worse. You should respect him at least a bit because he's a human being just like everyone else and we all do mistakes. And I understand you on the part about the money.......heck no.....no amount of money will ever make you forget the past and how you felt, but like I told you.....it ain't good for you to remember the past that hurt you. You cant suddenly respect someone that just walks back into your life. Money does not buy respect.Just tell him how you feel.

your daddy is just a human been
he do wrong things and right things
that not give you the right to not respect him
do your best to make him feel that you are not just respecting him
you are loving him too.

You are gonna have to let go of the past before you can have
a future... He said, she said, he did, she did....... all are negative
and do nothing to heal or assure a future relationship... look forward hon and let the past be just that....
