I say go ALL OUT and have an outdoor Hawaiian theme. Make a cake that is shaped like a FISH and have some games for the kids. GO FISH! Ask everyone to wear their brightest Hawaiian shirt and bring something going with the theme. It's easy to get decorations and everyone should have a great time. Ask everyone to write down something they like about the honoree and share those thoughts. Lots of fun and very uplifting!

As long as Black balloons are associated with milestone birthdays, over 40 or over 50, why not just go all out. Make it an over 40 funeral. Could be a laugh. I've been to a few of those and it's a hoot.
