Family - January 2007

I'm a teenager still living at home. Im a good kid and get good grades but I got caught smoking and my parents have been treating me terribly. My father has always been phyisically abusive towards me my whole life but this time its really bad. morning after I got in trouble I woke up to be hit by both my mom and dad, scratched, pushed down, punched and kicked. I have bad bruises all over my arms and a huge wound on my knee. Also my neck is torn up and bruised from where my dad grabbed my neck. I know I made a mistake but Im just a kid and isn't this punishment too harsh? To be beaten to the point where blood is coming out of my mouth. My parents have always been violent I guess its they're way of dealing with things. I just want to know what to do...I have always wanted to call the police each time but I don't want to be taken away and put in a orphanage or anything. And this time my parents say if I call the cops they'll tell them that I smoked and I'm a drug addict. Please help me

My fiance' and I live together. It's his house on paper, but it's my home too. Tonight he told me that he is going to have his brother set up his drums in the basement and they are going to jam down there. This is after we spent a lot of time and money renovating the basement with the agreement that this area would be used for specific things - not a jam room. I think he should have talked with me about it first, not made the decision and then told me he is going to do this no matter how I feel about it. Am I off base?

Parents - If your kid is 20 years old do you have the right to ask who they are going out with, when they'll be back, where they are going etc etc.

Do you think that your responsibility is now gone because your child is grown, or you still have to protect them?

My boyfriend and I were going to his aunt's new house in the country (he just turned 16 and got his lisence so it was just us) but when we got there, his aunt wasn't there, because we were really late, so she went out, but my boyfriend has a key, so he decided to give me a tour. This house is HUGE and in the middle of freakin no where. When we came to guest room, he asked if i wanted to have sex. I told him no. But he pushed me on the bed, and....raped me.....
He's at least 6'3 about 160 pounds, and Im 5'8 and about 113 pounds. I told him to stop but he didn't. I couldn't fight him.I screamed, but no one was around to hear me. When he was done, he left the room, and I started crying....he drove me home and acted like nothing had ever happened. I'm terrified. He's supposed to love me. This is going to be impossible to prove, because we were going out and no one was there to hear me say no. Its his word against mine.
I dont know how to tell my mom...im so embarassed. What to do?

What should my Mother should do about all of the unpaid bills? Mostly from the hospital, and doctors. And now there going to collection agencies. The bills our in his name, I guess they think he is still alive, or are we as his family suppose to pay them all off, there like thousands of dollars from the doctors that failed to keep him alive. With my dad gone there is no way my Mother can afford to pay all that stuff, my dad made most of the money. Should she just ignore them?

My sister is currently married but is doing adultery and drinking a lot she hits the kids and curses at them a lot when she is with them. her husband is no better and does a lot of drugs. My parents are basicly taking care of my 4 nephews because most of the time she doesn't even come home. She never buys them diaphers, food or feeds them she doesn't dress them.She takes them around other man to piss my parents off. She doesn't give my parents any money to help them out with the bills or for the kids and she is constantly asking them for money for gas she says she is working, she goes to work from 3pm to 11pm or 12 but doesn't come home until 11am the next day and claims she was working the whole time.I am the god mother of the oldest. My mom is thinking of adopting the kids and kicking her butt out of their house I am in another state my husband is military so i don't know if i would stand a better chance of getting the kids IF my parents can't get the kids. Can we do this?And how?

My Grandma is in assisted living. My parents have been visiting her mom dad mom dad mom dad, all the time for about half a year now. I want to make my Grandma happy because my parents have and still are doing so much for her! What can I give or do to my Grandma to help her be happy? I already have these ideas down:
~Make her a card
~Buy her roses
~Visit her
~Draw pictures for her and hang it up in her bedroom

i was gonna head out to go shop at hot topic and needed 25 bucks to get money for pants so i come downstairs and say hey i need a 20 spot, my moms liek "what for?". i go i need a spare o pants cuz my current one has a whole in it. they my sister made a really nasty comment, and i called her a dirty slut right in front of my mom. but listen, she is one she hangs out with way too many ppl she prolly gets it evry other night. lol. she can be so nasty and i had a headache. so my moms like. WHAT DID U Say. and im like u heard me, and then she says i cant do nothin for the rest of the week. im like WTF mom i made plans with my friends 3 weeks ago. i mean does she even care what my sister said to me?! honestly i know what i did was wrong but dont u think my mom should have heard what my sister said to me instead of flipping out on me? i just feeel like the whole world is against me sometimes. any advice?

WEll my sista has been acting really bad lately and it makes me worried like CRAZY because i'm a christen and if tomorrow is the last day i think she may not go to heaven and i PRAY AND PRAY LIKE CRAZY and she hasn't inproved ANYWHERE! My mum hates me, when she came home tonight she was so mad because the kitchen was a mess, and she and my dad have been fighting a lot lately about me and my sister but mostly me, and the house is always a mess is one of them. I got mad too because she was so angry and even when i was tiding she just went on and on and then i swore at her or something and she just grabbed me by the hair outside to yell at me about how she'd had to clean my car after my brother made a mess of it before I got it for my 17th last month, so i just yelled more saying that wasn't my fault and so she hit me in the face real hard at least 3 times. Then she brought my sister home and yelled at her too so i was sticking up for her but my mum just got angrier and angrier with me. I told her i hated her and just stormed out. When i came back she didn't say anything to me for the rest of the night, just hiding in her room all night. I'm just so angry with her cos she blames me for everything! And now she hates me!

my dad was dating my step-mon for two weeks before we met her, which was in November 2006. My dad had known her for ever. then one night changed everything...he got engagned on 13th of January. Me and my brother had only known her for 2 months. i was happy for my dad but deep down inside of me, i thougth it was too early. about sometime in Jan..she had moved in. and then dec 2nd came, wedding day. i told my dad that it was too early and me and my brother weren't ready to have a step-mom or have someone else in our lives. but all he does was just laugh at me thinking it was some kind of joke...i know there isn't anything do about it. Was it the right choice to make if you were him? i was thinking on going the Dr. Phil show to help us cuz my brother is struggling in school and he even tells me what the reason is. what should i do? and i'm srry bout all of this but i just don't no to wat to do...please help

I've done everything- i've helped clean up suppers, i've been nothing but nice, and i've done my best to be polite. Never left anything in her house, NOTHING! And she calls me...okay let's just say I've never been so insulted in my life. Now she wants my husband and I to dust her trinkets, clean her yard, and her bathroom...(we live next door) I haven't said a word to her after she called me things behind my back and yelled at my husband for no reason. (we live next door and I use her washer and drier), Confront her? Still avoid at all costs? I would want to call her lots of nasty things but it would hurt my husband's feelings. He isn't a mamma's boy, but lots of things have happened to his family and he's sensative about each member of his family.

Tomorrow is my sons 10th birthday. Thursdays is my daughters 15th. We will not be paid for at least two weeks and we intend on making it up to them at that time. But right now, I don't want to totally neglect thier special day. I have offered to cook them the meal of thier choice on their birthdays. I am not sure whether to buy a cake or make one. I still want to do something nice but today my creativity is lacking. any ideas? Remember cash is short right now. They got pretty much everything they wanted at Christmas and since we have had problems with our family it is hard to have a party and the school will not allow me to send sweets to class. Furthermore. My daughter has afterschool quiz bowl on her birthday followed by her brothers basketball game. I really don't want thier feelings hurt because of our financial situation this week. help.

I want to get light blue and dark purple streaks in my hair; my favorite colors. My hair right now is a medium shade of brown, and my skin tone is the classic brunette, I think.

But my dad thinks it'll look bad. And I can't seem to convice him that it's my hair, and if it looks bad I'll dye it back to normal. He says he's gone down this road with my mom, and she couldn't find a shade close to her hair color. I don't think that'd be a problem with me.

I don't want to just go out and dye it. For one thing, it would ruin my parents trust in me. I don't want to use deception either, telling them, "Oh, I'll just go a few shades lighter" and then BOOM! blue and purple.

And, really, my dad's the only one with a problem with it. I just don't get what the big deal is.

So, any ideas?

My mother tries hard to be a good mother but she is very controlling, gives me no space, and is very nozy not to mention stubborn and believes she knows everythin... i'm 19 and I dorm at a college far from home because i'm tired of her but she still finds ways to get to me like she called the cops and reported me missing because I wasn't in my room at 11... When I' home I spend my time defying my mother's rules because they're created just to control me. My grandfather gave me a car and she said that I can't have it yet... she's using it to control me. I do what she says then she might give it to me...

My father is the exact opposite of her and is paying child support out of his as.s for me and my brother because my mothers greedy not to mention the money's to support the child... so why when I need money, doesn't she give it to me? It'll be for food sometimes!
I don't want to upset her.She does treat us well sometimes but shes doing everything wrong.Should I move out? Advice pleze

I have always been treated like the black sheep of the family. I never fit in. Now my wife is being treated the same way. My wife and mother work in the same department and have to see each other everyday. My wife comes home in tears because my mom has treated her like crap all day. She's been ignoring my wife and when she's not doing that she's making comments that should be kept to herself. What should I do. I love my wife very much. She's the only one I really care about. I could care less about hurting my family's feelings. Remember I don't really fit in anyways.
