my mother is close to 80 yrs old and she need minimal care .she lives with me in my home..i have missed work to be with her,is there any compensation i can get for caring for her adl`s?

I think, that since medicaid is run by the individual states, you should call their office and see what your local law is on that. I would think that it would be cheaper for them to give you an allowance, than to pay round-the-clock caregivers/nurses.

I'm sorry to hear of your mom's illness--and I am certain that she will get better care from her child than from a stranger.

You've already been paid.... with all the sacrifice mom made for you over the years. But you can add mom as a legal dependent and get the tax break. But to want anything more is just plain selfish.

I don't think that you should be worried about getting paid to take care of her when she took care of you her whole life...........Stop being greedy and take care of your mother!!

i would think so, i dont know where you are from but in my country there is a benefit for looking after family. search for where they issues out benefits for unemployed people in your country. if you have one.

In the UK you can get carer's allowance - not sure about anywhere else
