Family - January 2007

He throws my kids around wrestles. He won't stop when they tell him to stop or when I tell him to stop.

He laughs at me and makes fun of me in and picks on me, even in front of my kids and other family members because he thinks it is funny

My brother also blames me when I get upset or stand up for myself and lashes out at me for being stubborn or sensitive.

He puts me in the position of defending my decisions and choices and who I am.

He won't listen to me in person so I wrote him an email. He wrote me back really sarcastic and thinks that I am making it up (blaming me again). I want to stop attending family functions until he can show repsect to me and my kids... but then I would miss out on seeing all other family. I don't want my kids to be bullied and I refuse to be bullied as well, especially in front of my kids... what to do?

My mom is going through a crisis right now, I wont go into detail but it's pretty bad. I still live at home with her and my dad working on getting a college degree. Well the other day, my mom asked my for money, well not money money but cash off of a credit card. Just for some reason it didn't sit right with me...I feel awful that I would think not to give her the money I really do. But it's not every day parents ask YOU for money. I asked her to let me think for a second and all of the sudden she freaked and was like "NEVERMIND" and when my father found out...I got in sooo much trouble. I still want to help my mother out but in a different way..not through a credit card, but she wont even talk to me, and to top it all off...my dad has called my selfish at least 200000 times in the last 2 hours. I love my mom so much I would do anything for her, please guys give me your opinion! Was I being selfish? How can I make it better and offer her my help? Thanks!

My brother doesn't hear me when I say 'no'. Or my kids say, 'stop'. He is smart, funny, sucessful, handsome.. and yet acts like a bully in so many ways to me and my kids.... I emailed him and told him the new bounderies I was going to establish and he basically thought I was crazy (with him, I seem to get blamed for any of our conflicts). So he didn't take my email seriously, and doesn't think that he does these things... how do I enforce them when he won't listen to me and verbal attacks me anytime I try to stand up for myself. I don't want to walk out at family functions... because then I am leaving the whole family and I do look like the witch... How do I enforce bounderies with someone that thinks I am making it all up and can't see that he is crossing bounderies and always has?

i got some letters,than my investigation starts and i come to know that i am not the daughter of my parents instead of my mom and that man who is writing all those letters
my dad dont know this fact
whay mom is also answering in very lovingly to that mans letter with all shayries etc
and that man is very cheap he is writing all vulgor things
how to face this situation
should i tell dad abt this?
i asked my mom whats all this i'll tell dad she said u want make ur parenst separate,you r the cause of every thing

To make a long story ... a short story:

My sister has a boyfriend that my mom doesn't approve of for various reasons (he's ungrateful as my mother spent roughly $400 or more on him to come overstate and she bought him food, t-shirts and let me stay at our house for free. Paid for overstate bus fair, and etc.. BUT NO THANKFUL at all! He comes overstate and he doesn't have pajamas, soap, extra clothes, etc.., and much more) . My sister still loves him and even wants to marry him ( because they like the same things, can talk over the phone for hours, and he can "understand her") . My mom doesn't not approve of the marriage. In fact , she thinks her boyfriend is changing her attitude and blinding her from real love.

1) What is real love?
2)What should my sister do about her boyfriend? Love or just be friends?
3) Other suggestions are welcome too!

My fiance has some kind of disability but his mother will not really tell us, so my mother has gone to dr and he has read over his records, and there is a problem, and he does not know what is wrong.

Do you find it unfair that when parents get divorced the mother will be given more preference to have custody of the child, even if the father is just as good a parent. For example even if the father has more money and can give the child a better lifestyle the mother will still be given preference (unless she is an extremely bad mother) Why is this?

I am adult living at home with my parents. I used to be and interpreter for the Deaf but now my health problems have lead to short term memory loss. I am in school trying to learn a new trade because I need to support myself but since I am disabled, I cannot work full-time. I thought going back to school for this 9mo course would be the best idea so that I can get my independance back I figured that this would take almost a year, I would get a reasonable job maybe even with benefits. The problem? My parents are sick of looking at me! I have only been here 4mos, and they just want me to get gone. I have 2 options 1. Stick it out 5 more months so i can finish school and then leave (Which would make EVERYBODY happy). 2. Split

The school scholarship is giving me 900 dollars. I want to put that money together with 150 dollars, I was saving so that I can get invisalign braces to fix my teeth. My mom says she needs the money to pay off some loans. It seems to me that my mom always needs money.

So, my mom said, "If you take that 900 dollars and don't give it to to me, just move out of my house because your not being fair if you say, I'll go to school and if they give me money, I'll take it." I don't know what to do? I have tried talking to her but she made up her decision.

4 years ago...within a matter of 3 months i watched her go from a healthy happy lady,to her death bed. It was a slow painful end to a shining life. My dad had a midlife crisis,as one might expect....he took off for a couple of years then found enough peace to come back home. He was back a little over a yea...rebuilding his life then on a friday afternoon 6 months ago, he was killed in a freak accident. I was still or am still reeling from my mothers death,I can not even begin to cope with this loss!! I feel like an orphan? Is that riduculs??I know I was lucky to have them till i was grown, but she was only 43. I just cant get past losing her...or them...its starting to effect everything I do. inbetween their deaths...I lost my sweet lil grandmother as well...shewas the only one i could count on after my mom died.I have a little brothr...hes now 22..hes been in Iraq for 18 months with no idea when he will be back. how do i get past all the loss and pain??I want to feel "normal" again!

I feel so hurt & I'm bothered about it. Many times she gets mad at me for a reason that I don't know why & then she tells everyone else why she's mad @ me, & I'm the last one to find out why she's mad @ me 3 mos. later. & usually she gets upset with me for petty reasons. Like one time, she went off on me for microwaving my Ramen noodles.

My sister is 17 and has a baby she lives in texas with the babys father and parents. The fathers mother tricked her into signing custody papers they drew up and say they are gonna take the baby away and kick her out. Is that legal she is a minor and i didnt think they could sign binding contracts besides i think her father has custody till she is 18 but that might not be how it works. Any advice?

alirte..this one is about my "mom" and the reason i put "mom" is because i feel that she really isnt my mom anymore....yes i do love her more than anyone in the world...but i am only 15 yr's old and well my mom has a gambling problem...she never comes home to make supper..spend time with me and my sisters ....if i do see her it would be in the morning before i go to school...but just the other day i said to her "mom i need you to get grocries" and she said "yeh well its not my responsiblity"...i dont no how she could say that...i feel like she doesnt care...she never ever use to be like this till about 6 months ago..and now its bad...and i wanted to get out of my house for a while to relieve all the stress and emotions i have..i wanted to go to my friends house for 4 days which is about 30 mins from my house..but the other nite when i asked my mom she said "NO" rite away cause she thinks my friend is "bad" but she really isnt...how do i tell her this and get her to say yes thats fine?
