If there is the different symptom as well to the crying, or if the crying received't end, get him to a neurologist ASAP. There are aspects contained in the mind that, at the same time as traumatized by technique of an damage or a stroke, can elicit some very unusual behaviors, crying protected. even if it isn't a actual difficulty in his mind, then he would have merely been bottling up various stresses and they have finally breeched the dam. If that is all that that is, then attempt checking in with him on a common foundation, like at the same time as he receives abode from college - have a second the position you get him to relax down and allow you to recognize about his day. If he trusts you (optimistically you aren't any further a knee-jerk reactor who blows up and grounds him for admitting a transgression), he will probable open up and allow you to into his international. continuously make effective he's conscious you want him (tell him) and that you're squarely on his area, no count number what. (properly, _almost_ no count number what, yet you don't want to bypass there at this aspect).

It seems a little weird to me to hear about a 18 yr old boy saying that he cuddles w/ his 'pretty' mom. I see my mom HUG my brothers who are both over 21, but I don't think either one of them would describe it as 'cuddling'.

In my opinion, that’s completely inappropriate. I have a 16-year-old son and we are very close. We talk, we hug, but there is no 'cuddling'.

There is nothing wrong with cuddling with your mother as long as it is just out of pure love and respect. My youngest son and I are very close and he is 27 now. I am referring to appropriate behaviour only. He is married and is very close to his wife and their children. I don't run his life or get in the middle of any thing he chooses to do. He is a good son, husband and father and well liked by his peers. We have displayed our affection to each other in public and most that come to know him, think highly of him.

IMO, 18 is too old to cuddle with your mom. Anything in the teen years, I believe is too old. I think the word "hormones" pretty much sums up the reason. It could lead to "unhealthy" physical/chemical responses in the body (yours and hers).

I feel that you are never to old to receive a mothers love. My eldest is 21 and when he comes to visit I still hug him and still say to him " I can remember when you where young and you would come to me and cry because you had a nightmare or other things like that.

Good for you! I think it's really healthy. And most teens, boys and girls, like and need to be held from time to time. But teens like their space and don't like to be grabbed, and for the sake of their "image" are reluctant to ask. So parents should probably ask first. I don't know of any teenager, no matter tough and self-confident they act, who has turned down a hug if they were given the courtesy of being asked first.
