my daughters daycare was unexpectedly closed today because of toxic fumes. i had to work, i told my mother that it was closed but i didnt ask for her to babysit. she made a big deal about her having to go in to work to finish up some cases, she's on vacation. i asked my aunt to babysit because i couldnt miss work and she said fine. then my mother says ok i will babysit but you have to pay me. i told her that i already had it worked out and to forget about it. now she emails me and she tells me that she will go get my daughter after work which she doesnt have to. should i have to pay her even though i said she didnt have to?

I was just wondering why some answers have to be so rude...I mean I know I need to hear it but why do I have to be called names & be patronized? I mean it oviously is serious for me why do peopel feel that I need sarcasm when all I want is an honest opinion...some peopel should think about who might be askig before they give "I don't give a **** answer"

My mother keeps interfering with my parenting!!! It is driving me absolutely insane!!! She "over-rides" everything that I tell my daughter when she is around. Her and I got into an argument last night that escalated past the point of no return. She threatened to call the police on me last night and also call CPS. I'm sorry, but I'm a great mother, I love my daughter and there are no issues at the house that would require any of those actions to be taken. What should I do? I'm so furious that I cannot even talk to her. Has anyone else had this problem with their mothers? Any advise or personal stories would be appreciated!

I've been with my man for going on 6 years, and up to the 5 year mark, i got along with his mother just wonderfully, we'd go out to lunch, have coffee, go shopping, etc.... and i loved her to pieces.... now, we'll be at 6 years in may, and I haven't been to their house once in the last 4 or 5 months where i didn't leave with my feelings hurt and crying.... For christmas, we decided that he would spend his holiday with his folks, and I would travel the 150 miles to my family's place, and come home crhistmas evening and then we'd do christmas with his folks and me (they'd already done their stuff on christmas), just a gift exchange, on tuesday night after we all got home from work. I showed up there last night with a huge bag of presents for his mom and dad, and she flew off the handle yelling at everyone that she didn't want to have christmas again, and ate dinner and she went to bed while i was crying in the spare bedroom. I don't know what i did, and neither does my guy or his dad...

I am renting a very nice 1 Bedroom appartment, my BF of 1 year lives with me there. However I pay all the bills ( I already know so save it) on christmas eve he decided to invite his 2 sisters (15 & 18)to stay with us (I have no clue for how long I wasnt asked) so we ALL slept in our queen size bed ( just moved in not much furniture yet) no prob...so when I got home last night my appartment looked a hot a** mess, they just left everything everywhere, didn't pick up nothing after themselves, matter of fact I felt like they been there for month the way all of their belongings were scattered over my place especially the bathroom & then one of the three stole my neighbours ProActive, I of course packed it back up & am returning it after work! So I told my BF that he needs to talk to his sisters because I feel that they should respect my place & honor it since they are visiting. & then they didnt get home till like 3 a.m. & my BF wanted some sex & I said NO! Am I wrong for beeing mad?

My friend Tamara's Mom will not let her hang out with me anymore. They are very religious and her mom thinks I am a bad influence, disrespectful and I dress "suggestively". I stayed with them for 6 weeks here in Tx earlier this Fall when my Dad was in the Middle East on business. Her Mom and I did not get along too well. In fact, she even whooped me on the butt with a folded belt (hurts and embarrasing!) twice because she was like I am disrespectful of adults and because I got in trouble at school again. I called the police after the 2nd time and they were like I deserved it and they told me to "shut up hang up and then grow up" (taxpayers should be outraged!) I complained to my Dad and he was like I should be ashamed and he grounded me 7 weeks and I just got ungrounded.

I miss my friend Tamara. I told her to put her Mom on the phone but she refused to talk to me. Should I just give up on this? I see her at school still but we just aren't allowed to go to the mall and stuff.

I'm 25 years old and very close with my family. I moved out of my parents' house when I was 19, but just moved back in a year ago. I live in the country in a quiet, boring little town...and I absolutely hate the cold weather!! I've always dreamed about living somewhere nice and warm near the ocean. Due to my recent quarter life crisis, guys, too much hard partying, alway depressed...I really feel like I need to find myself. I would love to move somewhere and start fresh, but I don't want to leave my family!! I can't imagine not having them there and not being able to be there for my 13 year old brother! I'm worried I'm going to kick myself forever if I don't go out and try to start a life of my own by the ocean!!

What is your opinion on this? My father feels as if I am a "guest" in his house and should ask when I want some food or something to drink. I find this appalling. Yes, I agree that I no longer live under his roof but his home will always be "home" to me. I think that it is almost degrading that makes me feel this way. This was a rule in the house that all of us children observed growing up and I can understand that because we would have eaten them out of the house but I am an adult now. When my children come to my house, I do not make them ask for anything. What is mine is theirs and they can have anything they want! Please share your thoughts and views. Thanks.

My wife's mother and her siblings had a big fight on Christmas. The family has basically been at each other's throats since I have met them. Last year their Patriarch (my wife's grandfather) passed away and now they fight over his tombstone. It is just the newest thing for them to fight over. I am sure he is embarrassed.

During this recent argument, my wife's uncle, Oaf, brought me into it by saying my mother-in-law was jealous of his daughter, Crass, because she had a better husband. Oaf also said Patriarch never liked me.

Crass used foul language toward my mother-in-law at a funeral. In this latest argument, Crass called my mother-in-law "evil and sinister." Crass' brother, Neanderthal, shuffled in and started accusing my mother-in-law of causing the problems. She is very sweet and innocent.

I want to lash out because my in-laws have been wronged and my wife hurt but I am worried because I think Crass is insane and I am not sure what she is capable of. What should I do?

Everytime I come home to visit my family I either get upset about something or I'm arguing with them, there is no happy medium. My sister has some type of undiagnosed mood disorder and fights with every member of my family non-stop. When I'm here my mom will find a way to blame me for things my sister does. Then, I'll call my dad crying and saying that I can't wait to go home and my mom will then start telling me things like no one wants you here, please go home! Ironically enough, she is always the one begging for me to come and visit. What should I do?

I've lived with them for a little over a year. I've never done anything "bad" so I'm not sure how to go about it.

Since I was going 24 mph over the speed limit I have to go to court. This is the reason I'm afraid to tell them. I'm 18, but on their insurance policy.

Right now they are out of town for 4-5 more days. Should I tell them over the phone? Or should I wait until they come home to tell them? Maybe wait until they have a glass of wine in them?

I know I really screwed up and I feel awful.

My moms like we already have a plan and I'mnot changing it!! Well I havent asked my dad yet. He will come home at night. Usually when he comes back I say hi and happily be nice and greet him. Over the holidays I was at my sisters house and met her bf for the first time. At first he seemed like a really nice guy. He is in his late 30's. Then I noticed him checking out our 19 year old niece in a kind of creepy way. He was more than just appreciateing her beauty. I got the creeps big time. My sister is crazy about this guy. My bf doesnt think I should tell. I dont know. Do you think he crossed the line? I know guys check out girls, but this is family to his girlfriend. How bad is this? I think my niece was uncomfortable with it also.

He's never been drunk before, and has never done anything that his parents wouldn't approve of.
I like this guy heaps what should I do?

I am a black 24 year old woman and I have always dated outside and inside my race. I was just wondering because I have seen people who won't do it all and people who are open to it. I am a Georgia girl so it seems that if you are a black male and date outside your race it's cool. But, don't be a black women and date outside your race because your a gold digger. I was just wondering what everyone thought about that general sterotype. Just for information, I have been with my current boyfriend for 2 years and he is English and white but can quote every line from all the Friday movies so I had to give him a chance. I just wanted to know what you all thought.

i wake up very late in the day. I believe it's because of school, work, and the holidays. However, the source of comfort(my family) has come up short in this time of need. My mother is a key part of my life, however it seems she has lost focus and clarity. Also, my sister in law explained to me on christmas day that my brother and her feel awkward coming home and seeing her because he feels she(my mother) backstabbed him 10 years ago when my mother still was friends with his old girlfriend ( i know what a dumb excuse) and today i was very agitated at my mother. There was an altercation between me and my mother and the same brother and sister in law were there and my sister in law gave a look to my brother as if she knew i was going to flip. For the record, i never really liked my sister in law and i witnessed my brother cheating on her. However, don't you think it's weird that all of sudden my sister in law would make that awkward and fake look at my brother if she knew how my mother is

She used to be one of the healthiest grand-ma on earth, she has a strict diet, and she takes care of her cholosterol, sugar level, etc. What can I do to wake her up? I'm afraid that she'll never wake up anymore.

My sons dad and I seperated and have a contact order in place. My son wanted me to call him the weekend he was at his dads. However, he started crying and asked me to pick him up. I obviously could not as it was not my wekend, however instead of trying to calm my son down my ex partners new girlfriend started screaming in the back ground saying get that ***** of the phone it is out of order her ringing, I am not having her upset him like this - A better resopnse would have been for her to say look I know you are missing your mummy but you will see her soon or something like that. Can I do anything about her as it is not the first time she has been stupid like this and it is not healthy for my son. I do not call all the time only when he has asked me to. He is only 4.
