Well perhaps, because they think you deserve to be punished. Fighting is a sign of loss of control, you lost your cool, there are other ways to handle a situation other than with violence. And perhaps this is the lesson they want you to learn. Cool down and give you time to think about making better choices. You can not go through life fighting. God bless****

Depends on who you were fighting with, but the biggest reason is to teach you a lesson that there are consequences to your actions. If you get in a fight as an adult you can go to jail or get fined allot of money. If you are not able to stop the fighting then you need to tell your parents that you need counseling.

It depends on the situation...did it happen at school? was the other person badly hurt? are your parents being sued? was it a sibling? Are you always getting into trouble? was this your first fight? all of that plays a factor in the amount of time you are punished.

because they love you and want you to understand that what you did was wrong and this is how they chose to do it. Be happy that you have parents that love you enough to care . Take a deep breath and take your punishment without being ugly and who knows you may get off earlier than previously thought.
AND HOW BAD CAN IT BE, YOU ARE ABLE TO BE ON YAHOO ANSWERS EVEN WHILE BEING PUNISHED LOL

Well - my guess is that your parents (and rightfully so) don't approve of fighting...

So they grounded you...
