I've been reading a lot of questions this morning and it seems a lot of people suffer from being able to let go of wrongs done them in the past...usually from parents, relatives or friends. What would you recommend to these people to help them heal?

After being widowed in my early forties I am happy now with my partner of 11 years but my daughter cannot forget her father and thinks I should be on my own. I thought the problem was over until we visited 3 weeks ago and have seen for myself she is worse than ever. Her husband who I have always liked is just as bad. what has happened I don't know. I love my daughter very much but I am not going to let her spoil my happiness. After returning home after our visit my partner and I have been upset. I have e-mailed her but still no answer. We live 9000 miles away so it is not easy. Any advice anybody?

Sister in law is best friends with her sister(my wife). Sister in law has too much influence but wife denies & denies she is in competition with her sis. Sis puts her needs above our needs at our expense. ie: sister is buying a 450K house... so we should build NEXT door to her so my wife can spend more time with her sis and nose into our business. Sister in law wanted to go skiing in CO in 05" but I did not...she convinces my wife, parents, etc to go for x-mas...we end up going b/c I do not want to be viewed as the jerk. Sister in law has two small kids and is pushing us to let our 10 wk old spend more time with her and her husband. I am a stay home dad doing a home business. Sister in law makes cheap shots about my parenting skills until I told her off. I am concerned she is manipulating our life to take away my kid and my wife away from me. Is this some sinister motive? You would think this was some child trying to break up a marriage? Any thoughts. Give me some truth. Thanks.

I came to Arizona 3 months ago to stay with my father and work for a little while until I got my own place. My boyfriend/father of my child came to visit us about 3 weeks ago. But last night my boyfriend and my dad ended up getting into a fist fight and my father went to jail because he hit my boyfriend first. All I remember was that they both started arguing, got in each others faces and then my dad hit him. Now I am being made out to look like the bad guy because of what happened. I didn't make anyone put their hands on anyone so how could I have stopped it? I tried to calm the situation down but male egos and tempers took control. Plus, they were fighting all over the place and the only person I was thinking about was the safety of my daughter. Someone please help. What should i do?

My future mother-in-law uses her daughter for everything. They live together right now until we get married. My fiance does all the chores and works a full time job to only give up some of her paycheck to her mother. Meanwhile, my future mother-in-law is claiming disability from the Social Security Administration for herself (she has crone's disease but is still physically capable) and her other daughter (who is slightly mentally handicapped). My mother-in-law acts dumb to everything and has my fiance do all the work. And she calls my fiance constantly to ask stupid questions or complain. My future mother-in-law does not have a job because she is scared that her disability payments will stop although I know that is not the truth (my brother is on disability for a mental illness but still carries a job). I am worried because I know my mother-in-law will continue her antics after my fiance moves out. What can I do to make sure the dependency does not continue once we are married?

I am not an over the top religious woman, but I do believe in marriage and the commitment before God, and ethics in general.

Anyhow, my sister in law who I love dearly, lacks ambition in life, and wants free ride, she lives off other people and if it isnt enough of her mooching . She leaves her husband for another man. Which screams in my mind how any God form man or woman could cause so much termoile in a family and in a home is beyond my state of thinking.

I really an not thrilled with her judgment period., I cant even think how on earth I assosciate with ehr at this point. I am so against all her decisions.
To me she is a kind hearted friend, we laugh togheter and share together. But everything in me does not like what she has done, do I disconnect her from my life, and tell her why?
this is really unsettling.

my husband, her brother, is so angry with her life decisions, but he loves her too much to say anything.
what would u do?

I met a guy and we've been talking for a month. He's really wonderful and dedicated. A week ago he told me that he's a co owner of a local casino, and he's been buying me expensive things ever since then. He also gives me money just for me to spend.

My problem is, my family is not very rich. We live on a Wal-Mart Associate's income and there is 7 people in the house. I dont know all the technicalities, but I know that my parents are worrying about how to pay the car bills, house bills, and etc. They dont want me to work because it's my senior year and I'm taking 4 advanced classes.

I really want to help my parents because I dont need all this money for myself. They dont know about my boyfriend, but I want to tell them after I turn 18 in 3 weeks. When is a good time to tell them, and how could I go about it? My boyfriend makes more money in two weeks than they do in three years. I REALLY want to help my family... shopping isnt as important to me as they are.

Please help?

message came thru and opened it . she then proceeded to look at all my incoming and outgoing text messages. i have been communicating with an ex-boyfriend and good friend for over 20 yrs. we have recently been sending some "fun" pics to each other. needless to say, my daughter is not talking to me and told me that i am disgusting and pathetic. i actuallly started defending myself saying it was just a joke. then i thought "oh my god, how dare she go into my personal business. please, how should i handle this ?? oh, and she also told me that she told my other daughter and ex-husband !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have the URL links or author's name of the two stories, I'm not sure if these are the correct titles.

Writing on the wall, about two young children. The youngest writes I love you! on the wall and his mom didn't get upset with him when his sibbling told his mother.

The second story, is a Christmas Cup story I can't recall what its about but its a wonderful story for the holiday season. Both stories are inspiring and touching.

I asked a question before about my mother. I'd won £5k's worth of
holiday vouchers and shared them with her & my brother booking her a holiday to St Lucia in Feb 07. She then said I'm not going even though the vouchers/holiday were non-refundable or transferable. So £2k is just gone. I phoned up the airline and they say they'd consider reunding if she got a medical note to say she can;t travel as she has to care for my sister who has Lupus. The real reason is she says she won't get holiday pay.
Anyway she refuses point blank to make steps to refund me the £2k so I have now gone to a solicitor..
The reason I have done so is that I used £2k of the vouchers myself to go to Mauritius with my son but got into debt as I did not go all inclusive as I could have done. As I shared the vouchers with her I had to spend a lot of money went I got there. Was I unjustified to go to a lawyer
