Well I can kinda see how that could be strefful for you.... But you mom is a grown women. She's dealing with a lot of stress and sedness right now. What would you rather her do... smoke a plant to help her relax or start poppin pills...? If she starts to forget her life, or not goin to work, or doin the things she's suppose to do then intervien... until then just let her know calmly how you feel about it and then be there for your mom Love her, let her know she doesnt need to smoke that **** to feel better, be there for her and show your love and support. other then that just let her for the time being relax, and have time to think. She'll be alright, just have faith in her and in yourself. Good Luck.

I guess you mean weird, right. Well she should and what you can do is be there for her when she needs company and a friend to talk to. ALso remind her that life goes on whether with her or without her and it will be bad if she lives just thinking about that. Tell her she need to do something like, go volunteer, get a hobby, get her out of the house where she can know life is all around her. I know it is going to hurt for a long time but why let it ruin your life.

Let her, and especially if it helps her for a "moment" in time, forget the pain. I know the pain of loosing a mother and my only son. To this day, the pain of Grief, still knocks me off my feet.Especially at Christmas! Don't criticize your mom, help her, see about getting some "grief counselling" for her. A little "joint" every now and then won't hurt your mom. Her brain is already developed, it is you I would be more concerned about smoking "dope" - at your age - only Dopes smoke Dope. but for you mom, it is better than a RX like "Valium" and she could be going for the "bottle" be grateful it is only "smoke", and love her, and help her to try and put these looses in perspective! Give your mom a big HUG from me, and tell her you LOVE her. One day, my sweet girl, it will be Your Turn to Grieve, be prepared! I wish you and your MOM a Merry Christmas, please make sure to add that, OK?

Marijuana is a good anti-anxiety drug. It helps people who have been through trauma because it reduces their anxiety. Your mother is using it for the same reason that people go to the doctor and get prescriptions for Valium. It is no different, except perhaps that Valium is more dangerous than pot.
It will take your mother some time to get over it, and she may still experience emotional problems for years.
Leave her alone, let her take her medication for anxiety, and simply help her to get over it in other ways. When the grief and anxiety of death lessens with time, so will the pot use.
