If you distrust his ability to pay back - or if you feel he is about to do something very unwise then I guess as the "bank" you are entitled to ask.
If a smaller amount and easily affordable - and if he has never abused your trust before - then you might wish to give him his privacy.
We don't know the amount, the history, his character, his circumstances and so. Hard for us to make a sensible comment.

Well Yes and No. No because he is your father. He supported you your whole life. And as long as he's paying you back then there's no reason to ask. BUT Yes because it is your money he's borrowing ya know? And the answer he give you could determine how much you really let him borrow. But its up to you. You could be the angel daughter, or you could be the nosey daughter. Whichever you feel more comfortabe with.

Nope, when you used to want money from him, have he asked u want it was for , well he had a right but don't asked him he might think that u don't want to lend him it and that might lead into a big misunderstanding....
If my dad was still alive i would me more than glad to give him money for anything....
You have one treasure him....

No, don't ask.
But, whatever amount you give to him, look at it as a lost when it comes to relatives because normally, they don't pay back or it takes longer than they stated in time.
So give what you can lose.
Take care.
