Ok so my mom does foster care (which i think is great) and my sister just had a baby. But when i go out in public with my mom and her 6 kids (all 7 and under) and brand new grand baby...EVERYONE stares at me like their mine and gives me these almost rediculous looks. My mom tells me just to deal with it but its easier sad then done. Its almost rediculous what people think of these days. I understand there are young people out there with babys but that doesnt mean we all have one. I just want to know if anyone has any advice on how to deal with it other then ignoring it? theres not much more to do then wear a shirt that says "their not mine" haha i feel like i almost have to, to quit getting the looks i get...any help?

My granny just passed, and I am all that she had left, and she had no insurance. I am on a fixed income, I got the cheapest funeral possible, and even could not allow an extra day of visitation before the funeral because it cost to much. I have checked all the help resources I know of and no one can help. What can I do? I am stuck with the bill.

i have a four year old son that spends weekends with his dad. well as of late his dad has been bringing his mom (my sons grandmother)with him to pick up our son, which is totally cool with me. on the other hand my sons dad and his mother had a tough life in which she pulled up to his dads house and said that she didnt want him anymore and pushed him out of the car. my sons dad i suppose is working on a relationship with hhis mom now which i am all for, but his dad still doesnt want her to take our son by herself. my son doesnt understand how daddy agrees to her taking him for the night in front of his gran gran but wont let him go later. how do you explain that to a child that he cant spend the night with his granny because granny was mean to daddy when he was little and daddy is still upset over it???

Why is it that no matter what I do I'm never good enough for my parents. I get straight A's, I'm captin of the Drill Team, I respect them, I'm gonna go to college I'm a good kid. But no matter what I do or how hard I try I'm just not good enough they always find something that I could "do better at or try hardder at", when I'm workin my butt off. Why is this and what do I do??

I have been with my fiance for 2 1/2 years. We have a gorgeous child together and are very happy.I suffer from numerous illnesses that cause my life to be difficult, because for the time being I can't work. We are moving in a week and my father in law is driving the moving truck. Today he came to see the place that we are moving into. It's about twice the size as where we are now, and about 500 dollars cheaper. It's clean, and a great place to raise children. When he came in the house he said that it was too small. He complained that we were getting robbed by 350 dollars or so (the new place is 889 inclusive, 3 bdrm)Then when I told him (he asked) about our money problems he told me to get off my a** and get a job.He doesn't understand that at the moment, as much as I want to, I can't.I told mt fiance about it and he said to ignore it, that's just the way he is.His father has been like this since I met him. How should I treat this problem? Why is my bf standing up for him instead of me?

I live in California. I am about to have a child with a woman who married her ex-boyfriend while she was pregnant with my child. We still get along well and have talked about details surrounding the child out of court and seem to have come upon some agreements, such as child support amount, visitation (she will have custody), and such. Recently, several friends and the mother's midwife suggested for me to talk to an attorney and to see exactly what my rights are as a father so I don't get taken by the mother. A lot of this was brought about by her deciding that she only wants me around 15 minutes a day for the first couple weeks after birth so she and her new husband can rest and adjust. I don't think she can do this if I am the legal father, restrict my contact to my child. Although we have no official paperwork yet (which we will be doing through a private company). Before I spent money on a lawyer, I wanted to see if anyone had idea of the rights of a father in CA. Thanks.

I had my teen child later in life (over 35, so not that old by the way!!) )and would like to know from other parents who had children later in life and what kind of life they have had with their children. I have both older and this younger child who was a blessing in disquise to have. Any comments for those parents that have a troublesome child due to being bullied, or being way to tall in the class and just being picked on and not wanting to go to school because of what is happening??

If you are in your late 20s/early 30s and have kids, I want to hear your fun/meaningful gift ideas. We're on a tight budget but want to give our parents something meaningful to thank them for all of their help this year.

my parents are treating me like crap. i went out and bought my little brother a new shirt. it was like a black kind of long-john type shirt and it was black and i thought it was really cool. my stepdad yelled at me and said it was a "girly" shirt. my mom liked it but as soon as i said that everyone else but my stepdad likes the shirt, my mom told me to stop talkin back. she switches to his side whenever he gets mad. he is also very abusive to my little brother. i try to just avoid them as much as possible, but im always getting yelled at. I just wanted to do something nice for my lil bro cuz we are very poor. my stepdad also said yesterday that my side and my opinion of everything is wrong...should i try to get emancipated? im 16 and have relatives i could move in with. im just worried about my brother in that abusive situation...and my mom is way better off with out my stepdad...they just had their 12 year wedding anniversery 2 days ago...what should i do??

When I was a bit younger and still living with my dad it was like HELL for me. I felt like a prisoner in my own home. Gosh, it wasn't even a home, it was a house --his house. And i've struggled living with him all that time. And now I wonder how the heck I put up with him.
He used to be so strict. He bought me a diary once (A mary-kate and Ashley diary). He actually FORCED me to write in it. He would ask me stuff like, ''Did you write in your diary today?" or "how long has it been since you've wrote in your diary"
It was like he was my master! I couldnt even close my room door. my sister and i shared a room at the time. he would say, "I want this door to always be open." and whenever im with my friends, he'd always watch me and tell me if i dont talk up, (as in not being so quiet and start being talkative)
it would be hell for me. And this made me HATE hanging with my friends b/c i was a more reserved person and it was like i couldnt be myself. Well, all this pain he caused to me all bubble up and i had a panick attack. (thats what i thought it was atleast). And thats how i told the police and ACS ppl i wanted to get away from him. So my mom and sister moved out and
to this day we are still living together :) (im glad im away from him. im more peaceful in my mind. but now im kind of going through a depression state.)
the problem is. he asks why im so distant and never call. and that something is wrong with me. he says he did nothing wrong. now you tell me, does that sound like a good father?
