every adult think teens are rude crude and have a bad additude. but im 14 and im respectful and always happy. do you think it is fair for people and parents to not let me go places i want to and not trust me just because of my age. its like they call you a kid when they dont want you to go places but they call you an adult when it works for them. i dont think i should have to suffer for what other teens did or do. what do yous think.

okay so me and my mom don't really get along that great together. i love her and all but we just don't see eye to eye and end up getting in a lot of fights because she thinks i have an attitude with her. i don't think i do and i have been working a lot to try and get along better but usually we still get into fights. what are some ways that will help us get along with each other better?

well there is this party that I would really love to go to today but my sister is sick and I need my mom to take me and my dad is coming home a 12 and the party starts at 2 but it takes an hour to get there. How do I convince my mom into coming with me an dleaving my sister with my dad???????

1) Is it "healthy" to not discuss things with your adult parents that bother you about your relationship with them? I mean, should you just act like there are no problems and give the performance of an Oscar - winning actor/actress to keep the peace?

2) If it isn't unhealthy to pretend there are no problems, what is the best way act like nothing is wrong? Can some people not pull this off because of their personality? I can't seem to hide my feelings very well, and I need some tips.

I recently watched a program on MCS and a lot of it rang true for me. I'm not saying I have it harder than everyone, that'd be a lie, but I certainly feel that my brother and sister get more attention. Right from the beginning, my brother could of course talk before me, and he woulve had a yr of attention without anyone else around. then my little sister, 7yrs younger than me, got tons of attention because my brother and I were a lot more independant then.

It always seems unfair to me, because my brother feels he's the most experienced, because he's the oldest (only by a yr, mind,) which is frustrating, and I also lost the 'baby' status after 7yrs of feeling like I had my role as the youngest.

My parents are friends with my brother and sisters friends' parents etc, and remember all their achievements, but they cant even remember my friends names!

:( Does anyone else feel like this?

My daughter's father and I broke up about two years ago, however since we broke up he has not seen too much of his five1/2 year old, my daughter. because of court and everything else, well now his son's mother is making more of an effort to come and pick her up and see her etc... she is picking her up today, I worry about things like will she hold her hand when crossing the street, will she keep and eye on her etc... Am I worring way too much? Should I just move foward, and realize that she probably does care about my daughter? Thank you, also any advice on how to make this work?

So, I just turned 18. My boyfriend(21yrs old) and I think we are ready to move out on our own. We have most of our items needed as far as kitchen items, etc. We are also saving up $2,000 before we move out for extra expences. My boyfriend has already been out on his own- and says with the both of our paychecks we will be great. But, i find myself doubting the whole thing. I would really appreciate it if someone could give me advice.

I'm a grown up now, and I'm just figuring this out now. My mom was always angry at us....she ignored us when ever she had the chance. I have a son who is 13 now.....she hardly knows him. It seems she is incapable showing love to anyone. She hated everyfriend I had growing up...than she did the same as an adult....Not sure why...my brother and I have done so well, we have great lives...we are very nice people who have a lot to share. I think if it weren't for my mother...we would be closer to our father. I guess I'm all grown up and I'm finally figuring this out...I have a cold hearted mom who would rather ignore her kids..Has anyone else gone this as an adult? It has taken me a lot of soul searching,......now I'm not sure how to handle it??.........Please any advice out there????

I am a recovering alcoholic and an enabler. I got my son out of jail by talking to the judge and let him share my 2 bdrm. apt. with me.some days were wonderful, his gf lived in another city with my grandson and i just adored this boy. My son was using, and I was afraid most of the time and the verbal abuse was too much to bear.I would go to meetings and wonder how many times I would hear myself talk about this problem. One night I came home and told him to leave, his gf was real angry, and I told her to take him in or his father who was sober for 20 years could. anyway nobody wanted the pain and agony of dealing with him and they told me I was a rotten mother to just throw my son out. The end result was that he left, and I haven't seen my grandson or son since, we live in the same city. I thought the other grandparents would at least call me, to see what was going on, but no one callled. my heart is broken. I have stayed sober, but my life is not the same. Grandparents have no rights!

my boyfriends mom get's into everything and when i complain he just tells me to ignore her but we all live under the same roof so how can i. she goes out of her way to just need him. but he has a family now and i need him to do the right thing. if he wants to take care of his mom fine but then she should know her place. we argue all the time about her and i feel bad cause i don't want to be around her but if i leave i'm not sure if my son will see his father and i dont want to separate him from his family but i don't want to live unhappy either.

I have this annoying 3rd aunt who keeps criticizing about her nieces and sister-in-laws (whoever gains weight or whoever is thinner than her). My sister, mother and I are always targeted by her and made fun of in front of everybody. Actually, my sister and i are not overweight, just normal weight with just a little bit of plumpness. Everytime there is family gathering, she will make fun of us that we are fat just like my mother, and everyone would laugh at us. I had to keep a cool face outside, but inside, i was and still am furious! I just cannot stand that she always thinks that she herself is perfect and keeps comparing herself to whoever female relatives who are fatter or thinner than her. Base on my own experiences and many studies, it is known that this kind of mokery and criticizings is extremely detrimental to young ladies' self-esteem. I really do not wish anyone in my family to be bullied by her again. Are there any ways to deal with her? Help please??? sob... ...

I wanted to see if there were any on here that has had experience with committing an Adult into forced treatment by appealing to a judge.

My sister is 43 years old. I know she can not stop drinking on her own. She feels she doesn't have a problem. She has 4 kids 18 yr old(moved due to this), 16 year old(is staying with a friend and wants to live there), 14 year old and a 3 year old. She is living with her bf/husband. I say that because they aren't legally married. Been together 8 years (3 yr old his).

My dad is an alcoholic who stopped drinking 4 yrs ago about. He drank for 35 years. Truly is a vicious cycle that my family is in. We have to do something because I know how much pain and anger those kids are holding. I was that kid. My entire family is in agreement to this. This makes me cry even typing this, however I'm not sure what else we can do. We have tried speaking with her and she won't hear of it.

Any responses that hopefully are helpful are welcome.
