When people stare and judge people like this I like to stop and embaresses them, I will actually ask the person what they are staring at (loud enough for others to hear) then I ask if they know me and are staring to try and remember from where. In your case, I would actually just state to them how great it is that your mom is doing foster care for these poor kids who have no where to go and since they have so much interest in staring maybe they would like information on how to become one, I would even just ask them point blank what are you staring at? Is there a problem? I would say do you have a problem with me, I mean turn it around on them and emberess them, hopefully you can get them to look so stupid that they learn it isn't nice to stare, I may even ask "didn't your mother ever teach that staring is not nice"? One more trick is when they stare look at them and say "no they all got different daddy's" laugh and walk away. That will give them something to gossip about because they obviously have nothing better to do with their time. LOL sorry that is just some of the things I would do I am just sarcastic that way and I love to make ignorant people like that feel stupid in public

As much as I hate to say it, I agree with your Mom. I hate telling young people that their parents are right because that's the last thing you guys want to hear. The truth is that even if you're ugly, fat, skinny, beautiful, old, young, single, married - people will always look at you and pass judgement about who they think you are or should be. In this case, you're young and so they aren't expecting you to say anything. This is a result of the mutual respect that's gotten lost in our quest for idealistic instant gratification, but that's another topic.
In short - people are just being people and will always act stupid as people do. The key is not allowing how other people look, feel, or act towards you change how you feel. You're probably a happy go lucky person and they're probably looking at you like...."dang! How can she be so happy and look so good after having all those babies" LOL
Take care!

You're right, people do judge too quickly nowadays. Besides ignoring it, you can say things like, 'Look what (insert your name here) found.' I was babysitting once, and everyone thought the little girl, who was two, was mine, and I was 17 at the time! So I know how you feel. You should really try to ignore it. But if you can't, then say things loud enough so people can hear, like 'We'll have to tell your mommy about this when you get home!'

I used to have the same problem. My siblings are 10 and 11 years younger than me. Its hard.
But what I found that helped., was to play into it. Its really funny to see peoples reaction's. You just have to laugh at it and kinda make it into a joke, you cant take things like this seriously or you'll get a ulcer.
