My grandma, love her very much, is very sweet yet can be very negative, ever since I was young. My wife loves being around her too, but its hard for her to stand up to her. I have tried for years tto keep my cool with her, so instead of wasting time on subjects she will not listen to, I jut go an do chores for her, and avoid conflicts. When she can't spill her negativitt and forced suggestions on me, she does it to my wife, who just sits and shakes her head and asks me what to do. SO, How Do I Deal With My Over-Bearing Grandma Without Getting Hurt?

Both my parents are quite sick. My father is in and out of the hospital. My mother remains at home. This means there are times when my mother is home alone. My sisters and I provide care whenever we can, but there are times we just can't be there. So, I am looking for a pendant (necklace) my mother can wear around her neck - on which there is a button which, when pressed, will alert me that there is a problem. I'm talking about the "I've fallen and I can't get up..." service. But I'd prefer the call come to my cell phone instead of a monitoring service. Any thoughts?

My brother just text messaged me. He told me my 24 year old daughter wants to move out because of my alcoholism. He does not have any clue what he is talking about. My daughter was on percosets for 2 years and is finally clean. She spoke to him to get money to start on her own, it's her inheritance. She wrecked 2 cars, ruined many tires, stole money, abused her mother and now after a brief conversation with him he blames me. I am a responsible person who does not need the interference of a brother who critiques me afrom afar. I am not crucifying my daughter, I resent him inferring that it's my fault. Any advice on dealing with the doting brother ?

Sometimes you can choose both options...
When you first buy your first home...
It's either in the place that you don't really like, but the return of investment rate is high...

Or

It's a home that you fall in love with and just have to have it with all of your life savings...

What would you do it that person is you???

My daughter brought home a report card with 2 D's on it...when her progress report came out right before Thankgiving break she had 2 F's and 1 D.... I grounded her untill her teachers said she lifted those grades. She does struggle with learning BUT I expect C's at the very least. Now she thinks I am unfair because she has to spend her week break at home with no Phone. She still has T.V. and radio.

that I want some privacy? We're both 19 years old, but the only thing is that I'm in a serious relationship right now. Mum has her to chaperone us. In the beginning, I felt comfortable 'cause I was new to dating after a while, but now, I want my space from her. Yeah, we (my boyfriend and I) may want to become sexually active, but that's none of her business. She don't need to be in every aspect of my life, ya know? It's bad enough that I live with 2 uncles, my grandparents, and my mother and father. I don't need her breathin' down my back, too. I never get any privacy or anything. I've tried talkin' to her about it, but she gets all huffy and puffy about it and blows off on me. I talk to her in a very calm and rational manner, but her on the other hand, gets way out of proportion. Usually, it's the the other way around. So, how do I go about tellin' her that I want privacy with my boyfriend and gettin' her to let me have privacy with my boyfriend?

My sons father broke up with me when i told him i was pregnant. We kept talking until the baby with false promises until the baby was 2 days old. i have not heard from him since. I made several attempts to contact him for the next few months. The father is not on the birth certificate because he would have had to be present at the hospital on that day. I have been going at this alone for 3 years now. im a 23 year old law student with childcare bills that are 600 a month, i make too much money for help but not enough to keep us afloat. Everyone keeps telling me i should get him for support. But is it worth the risk of having that worthless excuse for a man have influence over my son? Of course i am in new jersey now and my sons father is in california.

My brother's girlfriend is a real b***. She told me last year just before Christmas that my brother told her that we are not related, and that we just act like it on holidays. On Christmas I asked him and he denied it, which I believe him because we always get along. She also told my mother one year that we were going to get her a T.V. for Christmas, and asked her if it had to be a Sony because she saw one on sale for $100. When my brother and I decided already that we were gonna pay half each for the Sony one we already picked out. I really don't feel comfortable around her at all, but my mom wants to see her son and grandkids and also me and my family, but I don't want to go to Christmas, but we only get together on holidays. I have not seen or talked to her since last Christmas (the one that I ruined because i told my brother what she had said). We are going to be at my mom's very small one bedroom apartment,, what should I do to get through the day? And am I wrong?

my cousin gives me guilt trips all the timeabout hanging out w/ my boyfriend. but the thing that pisses me off is that i see her every day @ school and she stays the night w/ me every weekend. every time she says something to me about hanging out w/ him i just want to say " you know what i see you every day and i am sick of u giving me **** about it. you need to wake up and realize my life doesn't revolve around you. so you need to quit giving me **** about it." ok so i need answers because i started crying in school because i am so ******* sick of her giving me **** about it. if u know where i am coming from, u will know how i feel. if u don't know what i am going through then picture what it would b like. i almost blew up on her today but i thought that she would tell her mom then her mom would my mom and then i wouldn't be able to see my boyfriend. even though i haven't seen him in 5 weeks and that is also one of the reasons i was crying. i know i sound like a whiner but i need help

I just moved into my first apartment and everything was fine until my sister asked if she and her 4 kids could move in with me. Already, my place is trashed and my man is threating to move out. I'm not the one to turn away from family because she let me stay with her when I didn't have a place to live, but SHE GOT TO GO!!! Any suggestion?

She is very ill and I realize this, but I really cannot leave money around her or she takes it. When I ask her about whether or not she's seen it she always pretends to go look for it and magically it shows up. I feel guilty, but I resent her for ever taking it in the first place. Most of the time I get it back, but it still hurts that she would do it in the first place. I recently was taking care of her when she got her wisdom teeth removed. I took a day off work and stayed with her all day, before we got to the dentist she stole $5.00 from my purse. I asked her if it fell out in her car (even though I knew she had taken it) and she went out to the car to check and she came up with a $5 bill. It hurt that I had gone to the trouble to commit to taking care of her and she would steal. Am I over reacting and should just forget about ir, or should i be more active in nipping the problem in the butt. My mom says I should just be nice and pretend like it isn't happening.

I'm 13, live with my mom and my older sister, 17.My dad passed away. When I do something wrong, my mom makes me wear girls clothes for punishment. Sometimes just a frilly pinafore apron, or full girls clothes, including bra and pantis , if the offense is bad, I don't have to go out dressed like a girland my friends have never seen me like that, but it's kinda embarrassing and humiliating anyway. Nothing against girls, but it happens I'm a boy.
Besides mom and my sister, some of mom's friendds has seen me dresed like a girl and they said it was a good punishment.
Mom syas it's out of love and to make me respect women. I usually don't get in trouble, but of course sometimes I do something wrong. Do I have to obey mom when she tells me to wear girls clothes?

My husband has custody of our son. He has been raising him since he was eleven months old. His birth mother is not intimately invovled in his life. She sees him maybe two to three times a year. Last year she went ten months without seeing or contacting him. She does not financially support him, she does nothing. I have been with him for the past four and a half years. Does anyone know if I can legally do something in NJ that will allow me to have some rights over him. Whether it would be to adopt him or have legal guardianship.
