Boy, they must be spending a mint on everything to have it over the busiest travel weekend in the year. Sounds to me like you either have to forgo Thanksgiving dinner with your family or forgo this wedding and let your boyfriend attend it without you. If it were me, I'd choose the former. Thanksgiving comes every year but your boyfriend's sister's wedding can only come once. (at least to this guy. lol)

How long have you been going out? If you haven't gone out for a year yet I would just eat with your family and not worry about it. If you've been together longer you should see if one of the families will have it on Friday or Wednesday, or have one at lunch and one supper. If neither one can change there plans then you should stick with your family. You'll always have them; you may not be with your boyfriend forever.

I still hate this time of year because of this exact problem. What me and my honey did when we were dating we ate at my house and then traveled to his house and spent the rest of the evening with his family.
Sometimes you just have to decide if you want to eat with his family or yours. I am sure your family wont mind one bit if you ate with his family and vice versa. If problems do arise then eat separately with each of your families and then meet up together afterwards and share some yummy leftovers.

Do they eat at very different times - like 3 at one house and 6 at another? That makes it easy- have a mini meal at each house and keep everyone happy. If they eat basically at the same time, decide to eat at one house (draw straw? talk it out? that may be tricky), and have dinner at one house and dessert at the other house. Next year, if you are still dating, reverse it, so it all is fair in the end.

Easy. Spend Thankgiving at his families house, then Christmas for yours. Or vice versa. If they live in the same town or close by, then go to his, then yours. That is how me and hubby do that. My brother in-law and his wife do that. They go to Mexico for either Thanksgiving or Christmas, then switch it around the next year. Compromise!! :)

I go to two house to a year. I eat a lil at one and a lil at the other. Eat at his family first or vice versa and then tell him that you want to stop by your family house or once again vice versa and eat there too. Say I just couldn't sleep with out eatin...... whateva that it was that you ate.

This is a very common thing. What most people do in this situation is eat at one parents' house and then got to the other parent's home later and eat there, too.

You should eat at home how would your family feel if you went out for the meal. Your family should awalys come first till the day you marry.
When you marry you take it in truns who you go too.
But in till that day eat at home
Vist your boyfriend after your meal I am sure he will understand and his family

I think this is a question that only you can answer. It sounds like he really likes you though, and would like to eat dinner at his house. Maybe you can eat at his house this year, and eat at your family's next year.
