Family - November 2006

my mom is hiding foods from me for my younger siblings to eat. when i cook, i cook for my whole family to eat. but when mom cooked, she is being greedy to me. looks like she don't really want me to eat at all. but i am not a big time eater, i don't get why mom is being like this to me. so is this right for my mom to be doing this? i mean i love her and i always give her money and cook and clean ......what'sup with her?

I talked to my brother & he said yeah, uncle hit him a few times, but nothing major... I told him any kind of abuse was major...

Then I talked to the other brother who told me he hit him more then a few times... (the adoptive brother from the abusive past)... I think that he's hiding something else, very painful, though... I talked to the police but they said that I would have to have the "victemS" -- yes the victems -- come wih me and make a statemnt! Any advice on getting my brothers to talk to the cops?

Sorry if this isn't a very kind question...

Everytime that if my mother-in-law calls, I feel she actually just wanna talk to her son (my husband). And this question came in my mind: Could a mother-in-law really love her daughter-in-law..?
Women are mor sensititive in a relationship. Does a mother-in-law sometimes feel daughter-in-law take her son away and get defense or dislike d-in-law?

I've pretty much concluded by her behavior that she has no interest in me or my son.
I call my mom to ask permission to visit and she always says 'NO I am only 20 minutes away!
this is especially hard for me around the holiday season
lately Ive thought about changing my # and not have to deal with her anymore..I'm sick and tired of begging her to be part of our lives....I was sad at first now I'm just angry.

Sorry 2 keep reposting but i need a lot of ideas. I need some ideas for things to do with my little cousin. im 14 and shes 7. I am trying to find things that me and her would enjoy. It will be after thanksgiving if that helps with anything
I will also buy her a little something if it is cheap becuase I only have like 5 bucks but if its something she will like. I was thinking of a laser pointer.

K, well my girlfriend has been raped by her dad, she has told her mom who thinks she is only saying it to get attention, she told me and she made me swear to god that i wouldn't tell anyone, i think it is getting worse and i need to get her to tell someone, anyone, who will help. She won't tell because she doesn't want them to a) take her or her sister away from her mom. b) get taken away from me. C) fear it will just make things worse. I need to get her to tell someone... i don't know what to do, i'm scared to death for her and want the best for her, but i don't know how to get that right now, will some one just help me think of something please...?

I really hate my dad because he teases me about watching too much T.V, i can't help it if i like T.V i just love watching my favourite T.V shows and movies, the main reason why he teases me is because all the things i watch he thinks is rubbish, even my mum thinks so but she doesn't give nasty comments i don't want to hear like my dad does, all i want my dad to do is to leave me and my T.V alone and no comments as well he always likes to ebbarras me in front of my friends when having sleep overs, he walks in and says "So what's this rubbish your wathing?" and every time i say something to defend myself dad thinks i'm giving him cheek! i mean what am i suppose to do? just sit there and let him throw nasty comments in my face!! no i wont i will get up and say to my dad "Dad shut up I said it once and i will say it again stop it with the comments!" I'll bet i will get in trouble after that! but i will feel good after doing it my dad needs a really good spanking does everyone agree with me

my parents also have some issues with his character, his family's economic class, and the race thing. He and my parents had choice words for each other after our major car accident. He was driving my car and we wrecked. The officer gave him a brethalizer and he blew under. He had had 2 drinks. My father had some choice words for him while he was getting his head sewn back together in the emergency room. I had a busted lip. they had some choice words for him and he fired back. My parents believe that those of the younger generation should respect their elders no matter what. I believe that no matter what your age respect breeds respect. If you don't give it you won't get it. I feel that apologies from both sides are necessary. We have been together for almost three years I've known him for seven and we are planning to get married. I am currently a junior in college and he just graduated. My boyfriend has apologized but my parents won't and I am stuck in the middle.What do i do?

My husband and I are momentarily living with his sister in a share house. The rate she goes through toilet paper is ridiculous! She has plenty of tissue boxes around the house, so it's not like she's using it to blow her nose. There was about 1/2 an inch of roll left when I went to bed at 11:30pm, by the time I woke up at 7am to go to the toilet it was GONE! Can someone please tell me what she does with all this toilet paper?! :)

She has called me many names and my sister many names. My father seem oblivious to the whole thing. She can't even remember conversations from two hours back. She thinks she is right and that we are wrong. My sister and I are both sick and my daughter, who's five, says she wants to become a nurse to help her grandma. She thinks that I am the worst, meanest person, because I won't allow her to see my daughter. And I am always crabby towards my mom when I see her. I am not sure what to do. Any help?

Ok... so I just got a phone call from my fiancee.. crying. He finally told his parents that I am pregnant (he didn't want to tell them while he owed them money).. And the first thing his mother suggests is that I get an abortion.. and when he said that wasn't going to happen, the next thing he suggests is that he get a vasectomy.. (he has one child from a previous marriage... it's not like he's fathering a whole clan here) Am I wrong to think that she was out of line? He told her that it is something that both of us had wanted, and my parents are extactic about it.. I mean, I disliked her before, because I can't stand condiscending people.. but now... I just don't know what to think! I just feel so angry towards her.. is my anger misplaced? Am I the one who is in the wrong here? The next time I talk to her (most awkward convo ever) she's more than likely going to talk down to me about the whole situation.. I just want to know if how I feel is just.. or if I'm just being stupid... ?

Okay so I've been homeschooled all my life (and I do enjoy it) and I've pretty much been living in Los Angeles where I had over like 100 friends (and real close too), but a few months ago we moved to Virginia and the area I live in doesn't have that many kids (I mean of course there's lots, but like.. most of them aren't friendly?) Btw I'm thirteen and the girls my age I've met are pretty snobby and most of them are the gossping, gum-chewing spoiled brat type. So it's not that I'm shy; I just haven't met anyone that I can really get along with and the people here just aren't the same as they were in L.A. But the good news is that we'll be moving back to California in June, so...

Any suggestions? :D

I would appreciate any opinions/strategies for assisting a young woman who needs lots and lots of positive reinforcement continually. How can I teach her to be self supporting rather than always looking to others for congratulation. (I really do mean she is excessive; draws attention to her positive acts over and over in order to be told again that she did well.)
