Do you think parents are uncool or cool?

I think parents are cool. I don't agree on everything they say or do, but i'm willing to bet that it is for my own good. They can be sometimes corny, but hey...I love them just the same:)

I have two sons (13 and 17) and their friends all say we are the coolest parents. (I play in a band and we have a house full of instruments and autographed stuff and I look kind of "punk"). All we do is treat them like we would want to be treated and take an interest in what they like. We have rules, of course, but they are mostly common sense stuff. I have told them that as long as they don't give me a reason not to trust them, then I will.

Our 17 y/o son is big into computing so we let him go to overnight LAN parties. I check with the parents and know his friends so it's cool with me.

Our 13 y/o is a goth-looking bass player and has band rehearsal here at our house. I don't care because I know where he's at. I don't care about the clothes or the dyed hair because he's never made it a problem.

I think this is a big reason they don't get into dope or smoking. They are accepted as who they are without those things which most kids do to feel more grown up or to fit in.

I will tell you that I was a hell-raising kid that came from a bad neighborhood and missed out on a lot of opportunity because I was such a dumbass. I don't want my kids to regret.

Very cool. Everyone needs someone to raise them and teach them about life. Without parents you'd be living on the street!

my parents are way to protective to me. they let my little brother and my oldest brother have more fun than me. I'ts like they won't let me stay out like my oldest brother .
