What a very thoughtful and unselfish gift to honour your mom this Christmas. There are many good charities that would benefit from this, some include the Cancer Society, Sick Kids Hospitals, Animal Adoption Agencies. Whichever agency you feel that your mom would like to support the most I would recommend. And $20 is a very nice amount for you to donate in mom's name. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

What a wonderful gift!
$20 is just fine an amount for a 14 year old's donation. There is a charity my mother donates to called St. Joseph's Indian School and the children make gifts for the donors, so if you donate in her name, the children will make her a special gift. It's for children of the Sioux indian tribe.
You can donate to them by their website.
www.stjo.org or phone (605)234-3300
You can even purchase their homemade jewelry which the proceeds go to their charity.
It's a wonderful charity.

Yeah you could ask your mum what charity is her favorite, barnardos or any children or cancer charities are very reliable. If you change your mind about donating to a charity then you can buy a star in her name, am note sure if it will be enough money though, good luck on whatever you do!!

There are many different charities you can go with... do you want one that helps hunger, children the rainforest, cancer...? Are there any issues your mom feels very strongly about?
I just checked the hunger site (www.thehungersite.com) and there you can buy gifts and each gift you buy will also buy a certain amount of food for people who need it.
(You could buy and donate a pair of school shoes for a child in Africa for $14.00 and that would also buy 25 cups of food.)
OR for your $20.00 you can outfit and and give school supplies to 2 elementary school girls in Afghanistan for 1 year! Can you imagine that! Your $20 that you hope to spend can go a long way! (With this the hunger site will purchase in your name 50 cups of food for the hungry...)
From the hunger site you can also check out some similar sites that are for other causes.

Is this something that your mother would appreciate??? Is she still alive? If she is ask her what her favorite charity is... also once you have picked the charity, you can contact them and ask them how you donate in someone Else's honor. That is very thoughtful of you to do such a thing!!!
If you can't ask...think of something that mom is passionate about...you will be able to find something that way...through your mom's passions. Good Luck!!
This really is the true spirit of Christmas!!!

What does your mom like? If she likes animals, you may donate to the Humane society. Does she love little ones? attempt the March of Dimes or St. Jude's medical institution. you may kind into google seek for " charities for_____( insert animals , little ones, inspite of you want)you may call the more effective employer Bureau on your city and get a itemizing,+/or examine if the employer you're making plans to grant to is respected. they're highly solid for looking an section charity as far as purely putting it of their call, it relies upon, diverse charities do it diverse procedures .communicate over with the charity. i imagine you're mom already were given her modern-day and that is you. Your thought is what counts, counts in a big way. It does not matter the amount of giving, when you donate just put it in your mothers name. If she is alive you let her know by giving her a card that says you donatedor if she has passed then put in memory of your mom. Happy Holidays!!

It would be nice if you donated your time, rather than money. You would be honoring her by becoming a giving, kind person. Try http://www.volunteermatch.org for things in your area. It would be really cool if you and your mom volunteered to do something together one day.

How about buying her a present made by someone in need? Like hand-made jewelry or a hand painted pottery piece. Maybe a picture from a street artist or some cookies bought at a bake-sale at church.
