im 15, and my parents dont allow me to stay outside past 8 30. i have to be home then. im pretty mature, i call them check up and im careful if something goes on. how can i tell my parents to let me stay longer outside? (btw if your a parent, what time did ur child have to go home at my age)

and my second question is that my parents are really strict on my furture career, i want to do something i enjoy and find interest, but my parents say its a waste of my time and not a good pay. they want me to be a police officer ( i dont mind) but its really hard to get into it, they think its easier than all the careers i've told them i rather be. any ideas on how to change their minds?

I care a lot about my sister, but when we are together for family gatherings she usually makes jokes about everything I say. It makes me nervous about going home for the holidays and about telling her anything. She and I were born several years apart and my parents gave me more than they gave her and my other older siblings. I feel like she holds this against me and has dumped a lot of her negative feelings onto me without realizing it. I want to be close to her without feeling nervous about telling her stuff and without feeling guilty for the things I have. I also want to feel like my own person and not feel like I am under her thumb. Do you have any advice on this? Has anyone gone through something similar? What are ways I can deal with this on my own and also possibly talking to her about it? I would prefer to work through this on my own at this point, but am open to talking to my sister about it eventually.

Since my son was born, my mother-in-law has been moreso fighting with me over attention. She has to be centre of attention and has pushed me further away because of her controlling behaviour. She recently became violent and has pushed me around before. Now I am terrified of her and my father-in-law can sense an atmosphere when we visit them. I basically refuse to visit because im scared of what she will do next and I only agree to go to take the grand children. Now my father-in-law has sided with her and is making me out to be the one with the problem but everybody who knows her she alienates so what do i do? Do I put up with it for my husbands sake or carry on as I am?

Have you ever wanted to have a baby but you are not married or your not even in a relationship?

I've wanted to have a child since I was 16 (I'm now 22) and everytime I see a young child or baby I get jealous or everytime I see a child or a baby without a mom because she left I will get so mad at the person who left, thinking how could they do that.

Am I wierd or do some of you go through this to.

I wrote my MIL a letter telling her that I notice that she treats me and my children different than her other daughter in laws and grandchildren and told her that she needs to fix things. She recieved the letter about 3 weeks ago and I have not heard anything. What should I do? My husband is upset that we are not speaking and wants things to work out. She is a real piece of work and I could care less if we ever talk again. My daughter and son don't even talk about her, so it doesn't seem like they miss her. Should I have my husband talk with her or just let it go? I don't know what to do, this has put a strain on my marriage. Should I just talk to her or wait her out? Please help

i need to vent. For Thanksgiving, we are staying with my in-laws. They have a queen size aerobed for us to sleep on. my parents only have 2 twin beds (plus, i think other relatives are staying a night). The problem is that my mother in law has decided that instead of putting us in their office (my husbands old room) they are going to put us in the finished basement. THERE IS NO DOOR GOING DOWN TO THE BASEMENT! this brings up 2 issues....no privacy at all! anyone could walk down at anytime (which they will). And, because the cat is coming with us, he is going to have to be in a cage the whole night because of the other animals (1 dog 1 cat). You just cant put a shelter cat in a cage ever again, minus the fact he will cry all night (we tried locking him in the bathroom one night and all he did was cry).

So, my only solution (unless you have any others) is to think of good excuses to sleepover at mom's by myself for most of the nights, and be without my husband. HELP!!!

On most weekends my mother will come into my room at 12 singing "Happy Breakfast to you, Happy breakfast to you.... " (tune of Happy Birthday) and present me with breakfast in bed.
I hate this! It means I have to get up and straighten the pillows and eat... I would rather sleep!!!

He has since been returned to his Dad. For reasons I don't understand. The State of Fl. has filed charges on me for abandonment. Which has also been dropped. My question here is that Fl. has these laws where both parents have certain things they got to do. Like he has to go to anger management, parenting classes, etc. I have to provide them with the history of our custody battle here in Ca. But what the problem for me is they want us both to enroll in a sustance abuse program. I don't understand why I need to do that. He is the one they concluded was a alcoholic. I have NEVER been on drugs or been convicted of any drug related crimes. I am certainly no alcoholic either. We have 1 year to complete this program. He has a little longer for his other ones. If I don't do this in the amount of time they gave, then I could possibly lose my Parental Rights. According to the court. So even if I don't feel it's right, my son is more important. So does anyone know the cost and how long it takes?

She repeatedly denies things that she says about me, even when I have confronted her with it. I have told her in the past that I have heard her say things about me to my father, yet she still denies saying anything. When pressed about this issue, she changes the subject or denies it rather angrily, and says I am just "hearing things."

Why would my mother say this and why is she doing this to me?

It usually happens that my family doesn't tell me something really important until I hear about it 2nd or even 3rd hand. For example, my father didn't tell me the combination to the safe for several years, nor did he bother to let me know the combo to the alarm system for equally as long.

Even today, at 30, my parents aren't always upfront with me and often keep things from me.

Why?

My baby daddy was not there when our daughter was born and went to jail for a while. He just ignored me while i was pregnant and for the next 6 months after. He was really rude and immature about the whole situation. He just got back and wants to start a family with me. He is catching up with the 10 months of her life that hes missed. But i really love him and and need advice on if i should get back together with him?

I was just going to have a family get together, but he'd like his friends to come over as well. It's winter, and I live in RI, so outdoors is out... I live in a really small apartment that'd in NO way fit 8-10 kids 'and' their parents or moms. I'd have it somewhere fun, but we've done Chuck E Cheese (which I hate, by the way), and Fantasyland in previous years. I was thinking of having a 'Build a Bear Workshop' party, but isn't that just for toddlers and/or little girls?... Somehow or the other, I don't think my son will want to build teddy bears with hiis friends at his birthday party... He's heavily into the Power Rangers, and so are his buddies, but there's nothing out there for that... Any ideas/suggestions please?

I am helping raise 2 children. (Full time)- I take them to dr.'s appt, practices , do homework, laundry , cook their meals. I am basically doing what their biological mom doesn't, and I find myself getting resentful because I dont feel as a stepparent there is any kind of recognition for things you do . Am I wrong? How do you get past feeling like no matter how much you do or what you say it is never good enough? How do you get past feeling resentful? Is it normal to feel this way?
