Family - November 2006

I want to remain respectful when speaking to my mother...because well she brought me into the world and, with my step-dad, raised me.
But she is driving me nuts. I don't think she knows that she speaks in a hurtful manner to me. My mom is somewhat politcally active and is trying to force me to be as well. She frequently uses a derogatory tone when she speaks to me when I don't understand something. How do I politely and respectfully speak to my mother about her rude tone....without her wanting to kick me out (yes, i still live at home, it's just cheaper for me right now). I love my mom, but she is making me crazy and I want to slap her in public!!

My mother absolutly hates me, this is not just an insecure response to feeling unloved either. She has actually told people horrible horrible things that have no shred of truth behind it. She aims to make my life miserable. I am an adult now married with children, she even says horrible things about how i care for my children. Why is she like this?

My daughters father walked back into our lives 6 months ago, after 11 years, he wanted contact with our 11 yr old daughter, i said ok, but his girlfriend who he has 2 children with told him to choose her and her family or my daughter, her left her, she took an overdose, she had him arrested, she sent horrible text to my daughter and to me, but the worst thing was she emailed my daughter pretending to be her dad and said he didnt love or want her, for 2 months he was around, and stupidly i slept with him, (i still love this guy), then he got back with her, and for the past 3 months nothing from him, apart from his girlfriend ringing, texting, telling me to stay away from him, my only intrest in him is my daughter, i do reply to the texts, but not nasty just honest one which she hates, but the past week i have not bothered, then last night i had about 14 phone calls and texts from guys, at 1130-2am, she has only put my name and number on a chatsite saying i am a nice sl*t,

I know someone who's eleven. He has no dad. His younger sister's father's parents love all of them to death but the father only dotes on the youngest kid.

The third youngest kid, Z, has a dad. That's who they're living with now.

Now there's a baby on the way (from Z's dad.)

How can I help my friend fit in with his family when he has no father?

My mother and sister have had a falliing out. My siste is in a complicated, not always very healthy relationship and my mother has tried to be supportive and be there for my sister. my sister has apparently reconciled with her husband and has pretty much cut of all ties to her family. my concern is with her 3 kids. They are close to my mother and miss her but my sister won't let them visit my mom.Is there anything that can be done about it?Does my mom have any rights?

She abuses prescription drugs, has tried to commit suicide, and is already trying to start some crap about the holidays and the family. She has no job, and only stays with my brother for the money and the big house and nice car. She tells my other sister-n-law that I'm a ***** and she don't like me - and I've never done anything to her. She talks about me all the time and spreads rumors that aren't true. Why is she picking on me ? I have my own family and life to tend to and don't have time for her bull sh*#! Should I approach her and put an end to it (it would get ugly), or do I call my brother and tell him whats going on ?

I'd appreciate any input on this serious situation.

My sister, together with her live-in bf of many years, runs a small landscaping company. The workhorse of this operation is a beautiful Dodge Ram truck, which is in her name only.

The bf has a LONG record of doing stupid and dangerous things. Last night, my sister asked him to go to the store. He allowed his 17-year old son to drive him, and he insisted on taking the Ram (other vehicles were available).

On the way home, contrary to explicit instructions, the bf allowed the son to make a side trip up into the country. In the process, the son rolled the Dodge. The Dodge is now totaled.

She loved her truck. When the bf & son explained what had happened, she began to cry, and scream at them, calling them idiots. The son smart-mouthed her, using vulgar language, and my sister slapped him.

The bf, fearful, took the son and dashed off in another vehicle, leaving my sister to deal with police & insurance.

What should she do?

My mom's brother left Belgium for the US 24 years ago. We lost track. He lived in California. We tried for several years now to find him but we didn't yet. We feel a little bit desperate right know.

My mother lost custody of my half brother when he was very young. His father kept him from our family and we have never spoken to him untill I found him on Myspace. Hes 16 now, and we actually chatted for about a year, and then all of a sudden he deleted me from his friends list, set his profile to private, and wont return any emails. I love my brother and want him in my life. There was nothing I could do to keep him with my mom. I was just a kid myself. I am afriad that he will never forgive me or my mother. How can I tell him how much I want him in my life if he wont talk to me? What can I do to get him to forgive me?

My sister was in a wreck 9/06. She has 2 girls, 3 &4, i have guardianship of the 4 yr old but not 3 yr. The night of the wreck I picked the girls up - they have been with me since...she has seen them for 9 hours total...they are in a routine and seem to do well. both have emotional isssues but I am struggling with what to do.
My husband says we need to try to get custody? My heart is breaking for them. Any advice?

I have MS and can't work and Social Security does give enough (3people 1 adult and 2 children) I am only legal guardian to kids so they get no money from that. But I am only worried about the holidays. I want them to have a nice holiday. So if any knows any help I could get or something I could do it would be appreciated. the kids are 3 and 10

Last week I saw a post on here where a woman was talking about hiring a private eye to investigate her daughters boyfriend. Somebody mention the link http://background-records.net/ as a good place to find info online. Well I checked out the site and entered my sisters boyfriends name and found out that he was convicted of armed robbery in 1999. I know this is him because the name, date of birth, and address are all the same. I am sure my sister or my dad doesn't know.......should I tell my sister or our dad? I'm 18 n i just started first yr of university. I find the subject i am studying very hard and i don't like it at all. I live with my mother only, n she is like the only family, support, for me. I told her i don't like this program, that i can't do it, that i want to switch, every time i tell her this she becomes angry, yells at me, says she spent her life on me n i'm a loser n throwing every thing she did for me away.
