you'll have to get his sister to invite her. Perhaps the sister could invite all of you, and you go there for a change. This would break the habit the MIL has got into.
Or you and your husband could simply have Christmas on your own for a change. No parents!

WOW, this ones a tough one. I really think you should tell your husband to do it. I dont think you should get involved because she will probably end up holding some grudge on you for not wanting her to spend time with you and her son (your husband). If you cant tell him then I think you should just tell your parents to do something different this year. Whatever you decide try not to hurt your mother in law's feelings. Good Luck

Suggest to your husband that maybe your mother in law would like to have a change and go to his sister's this year.

You have to get your sister-in-law to invite her. It may be that the sister simply hasn't thought of inviting her mother for Christmas as it's become a tradition for her to come to you, but you should suggest alternating the visits.

suggest that although you love her coming over and spending xmas with you - and your not for one minute trying to get rid of her but you have just been thinking that maybe her daughter would really like to spend xmas with her but she knows how much she enjoys it with your family that she has never approached her to come to hers instead, and that maybe she should speak to her daughter about going to hers cos you think she may feel a bit left out and always seems like she feels like she is missing out on seeing her mum at xmas

masybe that could work?

I would just tell her outright that you are sick of her moping at Christmas time, bringing all of your Family down by her presence.
I would tell her she is an interfering old Cow,and you are sick of her running her snooty index finger over every surface checking for dust.Basically,I would wait until I had my hands on the Presents then say these things. Then buy a her a dildo for her present, this should keep her away.

It depends how close you two are and if she would understand. Just put it pollitely but firmly. See if that approach works. Why not get your hubby to tell her if you are worried about the upset.

Good luck
