My parents used to do dollar store things for me, crayons for the bathtub, small puzzles, coloring books, etc that aren't that expensive. Lottery tickets were good too (although they would have to cash them in for me, but I loved scratching them off!)Now I get things like shampoo, soap, things I need!Don't make the mistake of allowing them to have a giant stocking either! It will be easier to fill. They also used to decorate the tree with sticks of bubble gum and candy as an extra bonus!

What is the boy into ? You can always buy movie passes, a paperback book, some type of gadget toy. For the 8 yr old you can buy her a few pieces of cheap jewelry at Claires. The 3 yr old? Some lil' cheap costume jewelry? They also sell a lot of stocking stuffers really cheap at places like CVS and RITE AID. Good luck

Well you don't have to fill it with alot of toys and things. My parents used to fill the toe and heal of my stocking with an apple and an orange and then put candy in it about half way up and then a few toys and goodies at top. Of all the things I remember the fruit the most. It also gives them something good to munch on in the morning when they are to anxious about there gifts to eat. What about going to the dollar store and getting a bunch of little trinket toys. Coloring books, crayons, little packs of playdough. Remember she won't remember the stocking after a day or so anyway. Good Luck

For your husband try mini deodorants, hand lotion. razors/cream (if he shaves) cologne, etc. Its great for when he's on the go or has an overnight trip. Not sure what you can get for your daughter though.

toothbrush, toothpaste, stuffed animal, coloring books (you can roll them up into a tube shape), crayons, magnets (abc's)--if you allow it--candy works, an orange or an apple into the toe of the sock, a pair of socks or tights, a samll doll, or maybe doll clothes, you can even put in trucks and cars--my girls loved hot wheels
