My motherinlaw has custody of her 11 year old grandson who is autistic, just recently he has started to attack her, pinch her arms, and the last incident he started hitting her face as she was sleeping. His parents do not want him, and she is getting to old/weak/sick to take care of him. She is in San Antonio Texas. Shes gone to hospitals and no one will admit him because his blood/urine work comes back without sickness. So what are her other options? She told me she's so desperate she wants to call CPS and tell them she hits him, but she got worried when i told her shed go to jail for abuse. What are her options for putting this little boy in an institution or something along those lines?? I know it's messed up that his parents don't want him, but theyre selfish, i guess. someone please help before it gets worse.

I just found out that I have a step sister. I barely join myspace, and a month into the program a girl wanted me to add her as a friend. I look at her profile and saw that a lot of my family member were in her friend list. I just assume that she was my cousin. I ask one of my cousin about her and she told that she was my half sister. I dont know what to do, I dont know what to talk to her about. If you have any advice please tell me.

It is not the first time this happens. Last week they went to a mini vacation and we stayed home. Now they have money trouble. I feel kind of bad for them, but I don't think they administer their finances correctly. We also have debts. We try to be wise about our money. What should we do? Is this fair?

Our daughter in-law has post natal depression, we think so anyway.
She does not want to visit us with our son and grandchildren and says she 'feels uncomfortable'.
We really feel like we are being pushed out.
Anyone else have this experience or similar.

We are always told to respect our elders and as a tenneager i feel that at times, the respect shown for us is pretty minimal. Adults however, have the power to do something about- e.g. smacking and grounding. We can't do anything but moan to our friends, so is it time adults respected us? Because they can ask of us what they can deliver. Thanks.

I'm 13, my breasts are a bit more developed than those of most girls my age. My mom worries a lot about me and my health and makes me wear bras like in this site http://www.anita.com/de/en/0,1,104,1478,39236__products-detail.htm I don't like it, it has 4 hooks in the back and makes me sweat. But my mom was firm. I did everything to talk her out of those bras, even fought her sometimes but didn't succeed. I gave up fighting, after all she's a wonderful mom and I don't want to damage our relationship, though I think she goes overboard and this makes me mad. So, I've been wearing those bras just like she told me.
But I envy those girls who go braless. Her breasts are free and mine under those bras. Ok, I know mom makes me wear them out f love, but I really gota wear them except in bed and when I take a shower. It's her law. How can I get used to them? Sometimes I think about taking them off when she's not around, but I promised her I'll never do this.

My family has grown so much that we have decided to do gift exchange and draw names but the problem is that even though it is a large family we only have three families invovled. When we got to thinking about drawing names we realized that 9 out of 10 times we are going to draw our families name (like I draw my brothers name) and we don't want that to happen. It is my two grandparents, (2) my brother and family (3) my parents and sister (3) me and my husband (2) my aunt and her family (5) so there is 15 of us. Can anybody help us decide this? My mom had said something about the white elephant game but she said there are two many different ages. We don't want to do the chinese auction either. If you have any ideas that would be great. Thanks.

My wife and I are laid off and it's never been better! we receive unemployment, free oil heat for our home, about 1/2 our weekly food order is free, we get free health insurance for our family (given by the state of massachusetts) free housing is also available to some but we own so we can't get that! but we were saying it's so nice to spend time with our children and raise them, why go back to work and pay for health insurance, back in the rat race needing daycare etc.? especially now we can afford to get a mini van which we need with the kids...life is good! This is our FIRST time needing assistance and most of it we never even knew about, but wow, USA and Mass are a great place to be!! why work?

I know that nobody is perfect and that everybody has their vices, but lately it has goten out of hand when my girlfriends exhusband has his time with the children. The children say that their dad and his new wife go in their room almost the whole time they are at home and lock the door. The kids also say that there is a rule at that house stating "what happens at this house stays at this house." That is sick in my book. The visitation agreement as of now is every other week they go back and forth from one parent to the other, but the week they are gone is such a bad influence that it makes it tuff to enforce good behavior when they are with their mother. Seems to me that him getting popped for doing the drugs that I have been told by several people that he does, should be enuf to go back to the courts for more time that the kids spend with their mother.

Help please!!! My mother is causing alot of problems with me regarding college, I am a high school senior and have my pick of schools and for the career field that I want to go into I cannot go to college in state. This is what I have wanted to do for my whole life and she knows this…now my mother is refusing to allow me to go away to college, she said she would even rip up my acceptance packets. I have always wanted to go away and my mother hurts me continually by telling others that I will amount to nothing when I have really good grades. If I stay at home I will be forced to go to a community college, which I think is terrible since I have a 4.0, I already got told by the dean of attendance at my dream college that I am as good as excepted. Is it selfish of me wanting to go away?

Now that they are in school and are older she asks me what they want for christmas. She gets it for them, taking away the pride of my being able to do it myself. Then at family get togethers announces that she got the expensive toys and she is why they have the expensive toys. Now after she did that last year and embarassed me in front of everyone, this year she is saying I need to notify everyone that she is getting them the present and is now treating it like its a huge chore that I am demanding she buy expensive toys for my children. I finally told her that if she didn't want to do it I told her years ago to quit. And she had giggled and left it alone and raced to the expensive gift they wanted.
