Hmmm, My son turned 13 on october. I was just as stumped. So, I bought him a gift card for the mall . Boys this age like to be independent and purchase things "they" like. Also , they get to learn how to budget themselves and teaches them a little about economic world. I also gave him a necklace with a charm as a "symbol" he can always keep close to his hearts. Hope this helps.

I'm turning 13 in a month, and I've put a mental list in my head! I also think I am a little like your niece. Well, I'm not into make-up because I do have a bit of acne, and I do not want to make it worst, so I'm into my hair. I would get her a straighter/flat iron, or a curler. They are only like $14, at my local target. I'm also liking shoes! I like Journeys for shows the most, and Vans has good shoes! If she likes tight skinny jeans, I love GAP! (I know, I know, a little kiddie, but I fit into size 8 (KIDS!)) Also, Target/Aeropostle/Hollister/Vans/Journey... are all what my parents call 'hip' and I call cool! They have gift cards, so if you want something that MOST LIKELY won't fail get a gift card! HUGE TIP; When in doubt, CASH $$$$$ is a great gift!!!!!!!!! (I suggest $25-$50, but also be fair, try to give her the same amount of money you give to her cousins/your other nieces, and nephew) Good luck! 8D

How about something engraved with his name or a message from you (i.e. I love you).

If he's into sports, then get him his own personalized sports (bat, basketball, glove, etc) or a team jersey with his favorite players name.

If you could afford it, maybe deliver his present personally. I'm sure it would mean the world to him to see you and spend time with you on his birthday. If not, then maybe send him a video tape of you wishing him a happy birthday. Just some ideas.

Get him a wallet and put some money and a picture of you and him in it. Make sure the wallet has a chain on it - that's what's cool right now. You can also get him a gift certificate to the mall in his area. Teenagers absolutely love going to the mall with their friends.

Jewlery, perhaps a nice neck chain or jacket (leather or sports).
