i have a 5 month old child my boyfriend recently got custody of and he lives in a different state and my mothers rights are about to be terminated and im stuck in a shelter for her behaviour when the cops came for my child i am almost 18 3months from now would i have the right to just leave to the state where hes at if they let me?

It is very hard to understand what you are asking. First of all if your rights as a mother are terminated and you are not restricted by law to stay in your state; then you can leave.


If your rights as a mother really have been terminated you have no claim on the child. Did your boyfriend get a writ of protection against you? You should really not have any contact with him or the child unless you were granted visitation rights, which it sounds like you were not.

You need to get a lawyer or counselor to explain what has happened to you. If you have no money for an attorney then you can contact the Legal Aid Society in your state and ask for help.

Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. If your parental rights are being terminated, you can move where evr you want. Seeing thee baby would be more difficult, but not evry woman is meant to be a parent.
