I have to wonder how many wanted to get out of diaper duty when you needed yours changed? One of the best things you can ever do in your life is care for those who can no longer care for themselves. It is shameful to want to "get out of" helping your elderly family members.

No way. That's what nurses and home health aids are for. Nobody should have to clean up crap for another family member (over the age of 3). Put your foot down and say that you will get outside help but not be the wipe-ster this Kwanzaa.

Suck it up and be thankful Christmas comes only once a year. They may mean very little to you but they mean a lot to someone who loves you.

You don't. You step up to the plate like they did when you were a baby. Have a heart and remember they don't want you to HAVE to change them.

I have to agree that you need to suck it up and be thankful that you still have a chance to be with and do something for them
