On most weekends my mother will come into my room at 12 singing "Happy Breakfast to you, Happy breakfast to you.... " (tune of Happy Birthday) and present me with breakfast in bed.
I hate this! It means I have to get up and straighten the pillows and eat... I would rather sleep!!!

Gee you have a tough life. LOL Bless your sweet Mom's heart. If only more folks were blessed with such a loving caring Mom. Why don't you tell your Mom to hold off with the breakfast in bed? Then you can sleep as late as you wish, and leave the pillows in disaray. Tell your thoughtful Mom she would be well to serve that happy energy at some homeless shelter on a Saturday, where she would be appreciated.

I'm a mother of 3 year old twin girls and pregnant with #3 (due in Feb) I was a stay at home mom for the first 2 years. I had a car and a license but getting out with two babies was not always easy. I live in the hot desert in a small town so when i could get out it was usually to hot or nothing to do. So I can say I know how your feeling, its very normal. I started working part time when they were 2 and worked for a year, although i got out of the house I was still unhappy because I missed my girls. I am now a stay at home mom again and the feeling is not like it was. The key is to try to take some time to feel like your doing something different. do you have a grassy area near by? you could always do lunch with your daughter on the gras somewhere. Or in your yard.. Although I didnt get out of the house much more, once i started to change thing a bit it seemed to make the feeling a little less then it was. get out when you can, and talk to your husband about how you feel so he can try to help change it..

You sound so grateful ... that's sad ... I would love to be woken up like that ... that's sweet ... better than my dad waking me up ... he use to come sneak in my room early on the weekend - like 6am start pounding on my feet - until I woke up and went to the the swap-meet with him ... for years I had to do that ... but when I look back now .. I'm so happy that I got to spend all that time with him while I was younger ... cherish your mom and her goofy ways of showing her love to you ... it's not going to last forever ... !
Oh yeah .. my dad use to make me watch Walker Texas Ranger with him every week too - sometimes he made me look at his huge turd .. yeah I had to look at his poop just to humor him ... or I couldn't go out with my friends ... now that's weird love ... lol ... !
Don't worry you'll catch up on all the sleep you missed when you die ... !

If my mother did that to me, I'd make sure that I was up way before 12 and make my own breakfast.

hey if my mum came with a brekfast in bed and let me eat it there i would let her sing all day ! and i would buy her a cinema ticket and even go with her !

No way hosae does she do that! OMG! I feel so bad 4 you! How about telling her to please leave you alone, and that your not that hungry.. your just exhausted. ^_^ try that?
