I've been going to a school which is known for having a lot of online classes. However, it also has plenty of inclassroom classes. It's not primarily an online school. While talking to the head of my department she asked how my school was coming along. I was excited to tell her well. I dont graduate until the end of 2008 but I've been so dedicated and been putting a lot of blood sweat and tears into keeping my GPA as high as possible. She told me that she had hired someone who had gone to the school I'm in and it didnt go so well. She thought the girl was under trained and then she suggested I take classes at a community college. I've already dedicated two years of my life to this school and obtaining this degree. I dont want to have to start over or transfer some where else. I like this school and in my opinion my online courses have been way harder than my inclassroom courses because youre forced to do much more reading and participating. I'm a little upset by this because I switched to this major to better fit my job which I love but now it sounds as though it may be pointless. I'm 24 and in my opinion way to old to keep starting over. How do I handle this situation? Should I switch schools? The degree is Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting. Just to point out all of my completed math courses I've taken IN a classroom.

My 14 year old got mad at me because I told her no and has moved in with her father. She has a boyfriend and wanted him to come over I told her we had plans and he couldn't. She called me selfish and it was all about me then told me she was going to live with her dad. It hurts but I don't want to cry in front of her or give in so she will come home. What is the right thing to do?

My mom seems to want me to be a carbon copy of her. She piles herself in clothes and makeup and barely does her hair, and she wants to complain because I choose to wear clothes that aren't REVEALING, but don't make me look 30 pounds heavier, and I choose to wear side bangs that occasionally cover my eye. She attacks anything I do different, from drawing X's on my hands to the colors I wear. I honestly crave to tell her that it's not HER hair or HER body or HER eye or HER hands, but I don't want to be that spoiled. What can I do?

I pose this quiestion because I am married and I would like for my wife to take my last name; not only because it is what is done when you are married but because I have been with her for 4 yrs during the birth of her first child thats not mine, Two that are mine & helping her take care of her lil brother. Her first child doesn't have my last name but I want him to because I have been thier signs day one of him being in her and having him, so I have been fighting for that as well. I have been thier even signs her farther decided to leave. I have helped take on the responsibility of helping with her brother signs he was 11 to now he is 16 even though she states that hey I should not have because she did not ask me to But !I feel that if I am with you and we live together than I do not have to be told to do this as a man I do it automaticly. i mean it should not be hard to take a mans name for family sake ! If she is that in love with her farthers name then she should have been with him

You know those stickers of turtles or stick figures or pairs of shoes placed on rear windows, one for each family member... It seems like every car now has them. Why is that? Is it a church thing? Was it featured on Oprah? Is it an option offered on new cars?

My mother in law is in her mid 50's and in perfect health. She is in a commission based job in which she has not made a sale in about 10 months. She has lived on credit cards since then and has pretty much maxed those out. We are paying her household bills (rent, utilities) since we are living in her house, but may have to start paying her car, insurance, credit, etc. bills to keep her out of financial trouble and repossession. She will not get a regular hourly job as she insists that the market will pick up and that she is not qualified to do anything. We have 3 kids and would like a place of our own with our family. If we leave, she will lose her house which is really well priced if she were to be able to support herself and live alone, but it is much too small for all of us. We cannot pay rent and bills for 2 houses. Should we feel obligated to support her financially? If so, would you stay and pay a cheaper rent or move to a bigger place in a better area? Please help!!

My gay uncle in law is 50 years old, he has never had a girlfriend or been out on a date with a woman.

My husband and I thought he was gay and we googled his email and found out he belonged to several famous gay social clubs with his pictures on the websites. He is openly gay to everyone but the family. We never said anything to the family.

He has a male “friend” that has lived in his one bedroom apartment for the past 2 years. They even wear wedding rings on their left hands, but taken them off when they visit the family.

They are gay and out of the closet with their friends, but why do they avoid saying their gay to the family? I know my uncle in law knows we all know he is gay, but he dances around the subject and has never officially said it.

The family (except me and my husband) are very old school Catholic, but they have said they know he was born this way.

Why hasn’t he come out of the closet yet to his family? No one has said anything to him about it.

My neice is 4 years old and everytime she comes to my house she turns up the tempurature in my fridge to the coldest setting and it freezes everything. I ususally dont find out until I go in fridge to get something and it is frozen. Also, she plays with the thermostat and we ran out of oil to heat our house because it was set to a higher temperature and we did not know. When my sister brings her over she does not watch her and I guess she relies on me to watch her, but usually there is a lot going on so I cant always watch her. How can I tell my sister that this is going on? I cant have my electric bill sky rocket everytime she comes over and I dont want to have to remember to check everything, that is just annusance (sp) to me. Please help!

ok here's the prob. my father is an alcoholic i havent talked to him or seen him for the last 5 years.honestly i dont want to see or hear from him because ever since i was a kid he made my life a living hell! no he didnt hit me or molested me but emotionally i was scarred as hell. there was a time where i thought drinking and cheting was ok this was when i was 10. my mother cannot see how traumatised that made me, i didnt have a good relationship with men because of that and since my mother every single time would forgive him for cheating i had such not hatred but intolerance for cheating bfs. the woman actually told me that if she ever saw my bf/husband cheating on me she wouldnt tell me. how can someone say that to me? ur mother! and i'm her only child! now that same mother of mine wants me to contact my dad and forgive him! that is not ******* fair! why? if that asshole wanted to contact me he would have! she's like alcoholism is a disease and not his fault! i'm like bullfuckingshit

Through many words of advice I've been told not to go back to him because of his past behavior and patterns when he is in a relationship. He is going to jail for 90 days because a year and a half ago he got his 4th offense drunk driving. We have been apart for a year seeing each other of and on. He asked me to remain faithful to him while he is in jail and when he gets out we will see if we can mend the fences so to speak. Is this fair to me? I've wasted 4 years of my life begging him to quit drinking and now since he as quit he wants me to forget and move on. He also made a comment to me that one day he may be able to social drink again. Should this scare me away? I'm very confused and I just want to be happy one day. Your advice please?

Does anyone know how to get emancipated from your parents? Is a lawyer necessary? Will it be expensive? Also, if a 16 year old were to run away, got caught a couple months later, and her 17th birthday was several months away, will they have to go back to their parents house? even if it's only a couple of months? are there any other alternatives?

I'm not planning on running away neither.. LOL I was just curious to know. That's all. Thanks. =]

Help! In my family meaning my mom and dad before I got married it has always been traditional to go to both in laws for thanksgiving. One would do lunch and one would do dinner. Now that I am married my mother in law thinks of the whole idea is crazy and is having a real hard time with it. She thinks we should celebrate with her one year and my family the next. I am very close with my family and would like to spend every thanksgiving with them even if our time is split. Do you think it is wrong or rude to do this? Do any other families do this?
