My mom seems to want me to be a carbon copy of her. She piles herself in clothes and makeup and barely does her hair, and she wants to complain because I choose to wear clothes that aren't REVEALING, but don't make me look 30 pounds heavier, and I choose to wear side bangs that occasionally cover my eye. She attacks anything I do different, from drawing X's on my hands to the colors I wear. I honestly crave to tell her that it's not HER hair or HER body or HER eye or HER hands, but I don't want to be that spoiled. What can I do?

Uh Oh this sounds like something my daughter would post-
I bet you have always been a bit of tom boy.
She is probably dieing to help you with your hair and put makeup on you (don't let her) Your Mom means no harm, just ignore her she'll go away ( It works when my daughter does it to me)
She will appreciate your sense of style one day- maybe you could give her pointers

I wish I knew what to tell you. How old are you? As long as you're not dressing in clothes that are revealing, I don't see why your mom should be mad. My step mom is that way- she fusses at me for dressing in dark colors and wearing anything that isnt 'in style'. All I can say is try to avoid fights, but tell your mom you're an individual and that you're going to dress how you're comforotable dressing.

your mom is probably going through the realisation she can't control everything you do...also the realisation she is getting old and haggard. I've gone through it, and so have millions of other women. as long as you look decent, keep a clean-cut look...stop drawing on your self...lol...I know school is boring but come on...X's on your hands...lol...how old are you...2? MSG me if you would like some style tips...I am always the one all my friends come to for makeovers...I would love to help...oh, but tell your mom that you make your own style choices, and that you let her make hers...you never criticize her lack of style, so she should leave you alone!
If that doesnt help, msg me...I went through the same exact thing, believe me...as you get older, she will get even worse...Good Luck!

If you are a minor, this could be considered abuse. You may want to contact a counselor at your school to assist you in talking with your mom. If you aren't comfortable with that, consider speaking with a friends mom to get some support to deal with your mom. You do have the right to dress in appropriate ways that differ from your mom, and you do have the right to live in an environment where no one marks your body in any manner.

You draw X's on your hand? Why? Aside from that, as long as you aren't dressing like a prostitot then perhaps you should have a civil conversation with her.
