Try the salvation army, they can sometimes help in an emergency. Also a local church may help, there is also a government program called LIHEAP that helps with utility bills. And you can also call the electric company and see of they have any programs. Social services may be able to give you info and emergency help also.
For those of you who are being judgemental, don't judge someone else if you don't want to be judged, we all need help sometimes, you don't know that this is a home computer or what her situation is so instead of judging why not at least offer to pray for her.

I am in Kansas also. As a start you may go to a web site set up by our Governor. While it may or may not help your situation at least it may give some direction. One link on the site points to places that will offer help.
I saw this advertised in a senior center. I am not sure how valuable it will be but it may get you started.
I do hope it is of some help to you.
Check with your local government and see if they can point you to something that will help. That would be:
Pottawatomie County (785) 457-3314
P. O. Box 187, Westmoreland, KS 66549
Hear is the state web site:
www.warmhelp.org
Other things you may try:
Call all of these to see if they can help or point you to someone who can:
* The Onaga Herald (785) 889-4681
302 Leonard St., Onaga, KS 66521
* St. Marys Star (785) 437-2935
517 W. Bertrand, St. Marys, KS 66536
* Wamego Smoke Signal (785) 456-2602
smokesig@midusa.net
407 Lincoln, Wamego, KS 66547
* Wamego Times (785) 456-7838
416 Lincoln, Wamego, KS 66547
* Westmoreland Recorder (785) 457-3411

I will pray for you for sure.
You should call the electric company and explain your situation. Sometimes they will give you more time to come up with the money to pay the bill. Have you asked relatives? Friends?
I was once in the same situation. They ended up shutting it off and friends helped me get it back on.
I hope you have people in your life that can help you. Maybe try calling your church as well.

First call the electric company. If you haven't been late on a lot of bills, they will push the due date on your bill. If that doesn't work and you can't ask family or friends for a loan, go to the Salvation Army and ask for help. I know they help people here in Arkansas with electric bills. Good luck girl, and I will pray for you and your baby. I have been there. It is hard. God be with you.

Please check with your local social services (human resource department), etc. There are programs that will help you with electric / gas costs at least 2 times a year when the costs are the highest. Here in Oklahoma, the program is called LIHEAP. You can find information about this online as well as calling your local office. Good luck! Diane

if you do not have the $$ to pay the bill, then you wont have the $$ to pay back a loan. Whatever you do, do NOT get one of those loans. they charge a HUGE interest rate and you will have much more trouble then you do now. Please call the electric company, they should be able to direct you to a community program that will help. Hang in there.

In Mississippi where I live, we have county crisis centers that help people in the exact circumstance that you are in. Maybe you could try that. I wish you luck and am praying for you!

theire are places that do pay day loans in advance. Get a loan from one of these places so you can pay your bill. Talk to a neighbor or family that will lend you the money.
