My husband and I have been together for 5 years and married for 2.

We are trying for our first baby and hopefully the baby will be born when I am 24/25 and he is 26/27.

We own a home, have plenty of money, careers, etc. and are very happy and stable.

I mentioned to my mother a few months ago that we wanted a baby soon.

She started a fight with me telling me I should wait until I am 30 and how she doesn’t have the time to be a grandma since my two little brothers still live at home. (They are 9 and 13).

I told her that it was our choice and not hers.

She told me it was HER business since I am her child and any children I have will be her grandchildren.

She feels she has a say in the matter because she shat me out!

She hasn’t supported me since I turned 18 and we are not going to rely on her for any help once we have a child.

Do you think its crazy that she thinks us having a baby is her business?

I tried to just ignore her because I will not disrespect her since she is my mother. However, I can no longer deal w/ her calling me cussing and fussing then hanging up the phone. I avoid her because she has a nasty attitude. Although we live in the same town I only visit on holidays briefly and for her birthday. I recently limited her time with her grandchildren because she spends the time cursing and complaining to the children about me and indoctrinating them with negativity. They should not have to exposed to that as I was a child. I do not want to feel guilty, but I do not feel that I should have to deal with that type of behavior because she is my mother. I have a family of my own and I need peace in my life - not my momma and her drama. She has an explosive temper and lacks the maturity to have a conversation about why I think it is better to love her from a distance rather than having me lose all that's calm and peaceful within me and go off on her. I'm on the verge!

My husband is angry w/ me . My employee called me and I returned his call .Wow what a big deal ! All he wanted to tell me is he'll be late for work. This guy is 19 and certainly not my type . My husband has never seen him so he constantly wonders. I tell him to come to the office , but work schedules stop that.God , Im mad . He yelled at me all night and morning saying I have some nerve calling him . The conversation was 1 min tops! I tell him his driving me crazy and he needs help but he says he would be fine if I didnt call this guy . Oh yea,
Return a call from an EMPLOYEE!
Do I have a right to be mad ? or does he ?I have never done anything to hurt him and we have 3 boys together. Was I wrong? If I was I will apologize but whoever thinks I was , youll need to tell me why because I dont see it !!!

Having been widowed at 42 my mother brought 4 of us up alone. I am the youngest and have always had an up and down relationship with her. It came to a head 3 years ago, and we have not spoken since.

I did once love my mother, but now, to be honest, I don't think I will even shed a tear when she dies.

Has anyone had similar experinces? Is it wrong to hate someone to once took care of me?

I do however still allow her a relationship with my children. She was a terrible mother, but she is a good Granparent.

I'm going to face my abusive father and hope I don't fall. If I do, I hope I die. I can't live in the shadows all the time, afraid of him.

Is this a smart move? I don't know what else to do.
