Sounds beautiful.

By the way, the book Freakonomics has a chapter that predicts statistics on names in the future. It also contains stats on current names. For example, if your name is Angel, the ODDS are that you're from a white trash family (er, I mean, a low income, low education family).

Abigail sounds pretty AND smart. Great choice. :)

It sounds really nice! Still, then her initials would be A.E. I think it's better when you have a vowel and a consonant as initials (it also depends on your family name, if it also starts with a vowel then... it's just too much). Also, people should be careful not to form a word or a famous acronym. I say that because my initials are C.I.A.!

All the best,
Carina

It's like this. That name may not be what you or me, or our neighbors would call "our" child. But if your Mom has picked out that name for the baby, evidently "she" likes it.
IAnd who knows? Maybe the baby's personality will fit that particular name, and you'll end up calling her Abby.
Either way, support your Mom' decision. Good luck....

It's a beautiful name and also very versatile. She can be called
Abby, Gail, Lizzy, Beth.

It's a name that we don't often hear anymore.

Sounds alright to me, better then alot of names I heard, some of them sound more like a disease then a child's name.
