My daughter will be 5 soon, and I am looking for a good place or event I can take her and 1 or 2 friends to on her special day. She is your typical girly girl who loves ponys, dolls, dress up, glitter, but also has an adventurous streak and would love a balloon ride or something like that. Any ideas? Anything you have done that worked out well for this age group?

About a year ago my sister let my aunt borrow a mini-fridge because she needed it for some of her medications. But a few months ago she no longer needed to take the meds, but kept the fridge and we didn't say anything right away, I guess hoping she would return it on her own without us asking for it.

Now one of our cousins just started college and needs a mini-fridge for her dorm. Her parents would rather buy it so she could keep it for as long as she needs it (and I guess to avoid problems like the one we're having now!) So we finally asked for the fridge back and my aunt got mad that we were asking her to return it, even though she knew it was definitely borrowed. She said she'll buy it from us since it's already at her house. BUT the point of asking for it back is to save my cousin some money!

How could we ask for it back so she won't be mad?

My mom...she's a hard lady to describe..she's beautiful, but she can't seem to get a good man. She's full of rage and hatrid, and she has a knack for taking it out on me. We're attending counciling, and she's promising to change over and over again, she just never seems to get there. She gets mad over the stupidest things too...one time I got grounded for a week for not cycling the laundry..another time she got a bra that was a size too small, and bitched at me cause she thought I just didn't like it. After the bra incident, she pushed me onto my bed, where she continually yelled at me, saying things like no one loves me but her, and when she got pregnant with me everyone told her to get an abortion, things that just hurt a lot. She finally ended it with get out.

I just don't get why she gets worked up over things so stupid, and she doesn't do drugs or drink or anything, I mean, she's a governmental therapist..they have bimonthly drug tests..I just don't get what her problem is!?

My daughter, age 7, is sleeping in our room on an air mattress and will not go to sleep until we come and lay down with her. She has an extreme fear of fires after seeing the demonstation of a sped up version of a fire spreading through a room. (the one we all saw during fire safety week at school) She feels that we will not get out of the house in time before the fire spreads. We have been through the whole fire plan, have practiced and she understands what to do in case of a fire. She has been to a fire department and has talked with fire safety professionals. She is obsessive about checking that the stove is off and checks the fire detectors each night before going to bed to ensure the "light" is on and the detector is functional. She has been to doctor and put on acid reducing medication due to ulcer-like symptoms from worry. At first I thought she was just pretending in order to sleep in our room, but she has REAL symptoms of fear such as heart racing/palpatations and tremors.

My grandma and grandpa live on the other side of the country, I haven't visited them in 7 years due to being a poor college student.


I found out today that my grandma (78 years old) has leukemia and may not benefit from chemo.

My entire family in California (where I live) booked flights for Thanksgiving for an entire week since it may be my grandma's last Thanksgiving.

I went home and booked the same flights for me and my wife without asking my boss first.

I am going in tomorrow and telling my boss that I have the vacation time and I never ask for time off so I need to take 3 days off during Thanksgiving week. (I get two days off for the holiday that week).

I work in accounting and me and one other person handle the business accounts. The other person already requested Thanksgiving week off to go to the desert and I think my boss will tell me no.

What do I do?

I plan to go even if my boss says no, but I don't want to lose my job!

i kno i sound totally un-original and dumb... but, i REALLY want to give her something i'd like. last yr, i bought her a white scarf that she never wore.... so im not making a mistake this time!

umm.... something.. preferably from Target or something because im only an eigth grader and i cant just go out somewhere far w/ my car or anything. its all by bike. and not so expensive too.. once again, im in middle skool... and i dont have much of a wallet.

Yea so my sister gets married to this guy that is rich you know and she always rubs it in the rest of are faces.She thinks that she is beater then us.She has to kids to a girl and a boy but I hang out with my nephew a lot.But that is the only reason I go over their to play with him.I mean my brother in law is nice but I don't like the way she acts.So should I be mad the she has more thing then me and cut her out of my life, or should I still talk to her and be happy for her?

My mom thinks that I'm going out with my guy friend and no matter how many times I tell her that we're not she still doesn't believe me. She's even told him to leave me alone twice and it's really starting to piss me off. Ive asked her why she hates him so much but she just says she doesn't. I stole $200 off my parents and they found out about it today. I feel horrible and I know no matter how many times I say I'm sorry, it won't fix it. They grounded from seeing my boyfriend for a long time and I went off on them because of that. I don't know how to get their trust back. This isn't the first time this has happened. I'm a horrible daughter. But I really want them to be abe to trust me again. I love my parents and don't mean to ever hurt them. I just don't think they'll ever trust me again.
