Yes, I think love for a parent is natural becuase you don't have to like them. It may seem complicated becuase family are the only people we can't choose to love. I think that's why we are so hard on them because we want some choice in the matter so we choose not to like them.

Yes, it is possible to love your mother but not like her. Maybe you think she is too strict or doesn't understand you or your situation but deep down you know that she has your best interest at heart even if you don't agree with her. You can disagree without being disagreeable. If you can talk about your differences without becoming angry or defensive you will go a long way toward resolving your conflicts. We all live and learn and a person who has lived longer has usually learned more. You are learning more each day yourself.

Yes to this question..You can love them but dislike the way they treat you by verbal abuse, or abuse..Soon you just want to hide if you could..You do so many things to please her, but yet she frowns and hurts your feeling so
much with words that rust the heart..These are a few things that can make you not like your mother, but still you love her, because she is your mother..

YES! I used to do everything with my mom and we had a really good relationship growing up.when my dad died,at first I didn't really think anything because I was still too young but as I got a lil older and had a child I realized that she wasn't really as good as I thought with kids and then I got to thinking about it and I realized had my dad not died I wouldn't have turned out like I did.not saying I'm a bad person or anything but I would have changed a few things about myself.I love my mom but not like I used to and now I don't go see her as often as I once did.:(

You can love anyone and not like them and that goes double for family members. I love and dislike several people.

Love is not a higher degree of like. It's something totally different.

I guess so. Do you mean love her because she is your mother, and dislike her because of the ways she is? yeah.
