No, I would never do that! If you steal your mother's social security number you are a thief. Talk to her, you say you and her get along?

I would never "still" (I assume you mean steal) from my mother (or anyone else, for that matter). Stealing from someone betrays their trust and injures their feelings--and it's still theft even if it's your mother.
Plus, it's a person's perogative to choose what they do with their money, even if it looks like favoritism to someone else. You sound like my brother. My grandparents bought me a car for graduating high school. He got upset because they didn't get him a car, even though he dropped out. I don't know if that's similar to what's going on in your house. I'm just trying to point out that your brother's situation may be different from yours, or maybe your getting more than you think you are.

First off, you need to go back to school and learn how to spell. Second off, it sounds like it was less favoritism and more like you got what you deserve, you being such a vindictive self-righteous moron. Third, that's illegal, and fourth no car dealer would sell you a car without the co-signer being present to sign the papers any way...
Grow up and dream on...

squeaky wheels always get the oil. Do yourself a favor and don't take the Social Security Number. That is quite illegal. Having asked the question on here if that ever happened, it wouldn't be to hard to figure out who took the card. Anyhoo...just ask.

first it is not legal second if she finds out you will not be talking anymore. I would not do that but when I was a teen I bought my own car at a dealership with out a cosigner. that was over twenty years ago. I think they still have programs that will help first time buyers. Why do something that could split the family.

Jeez.......what are thinking? This is what we call identity theft. You can get into big trouble! Think about it this way, you'll have a lot of Big Bubba's with ya when you reach prison and you'll get all the attention you want then. So my answer to your question is: NO!

That is SOOOOOOOOOOOO Wrong! Not to mention illegal. Ever hear of Identity Theft? Even if she makes Mommie Dearest look like a saint, stealing her SSN is wrong.

Yes its wrong regardless of whether she helps your brother out more financially or not. Dont do it out of spite. You will lose your mother and your brother's friendship as well and it makes u totally irresponsible.

It is called against the law. I would not do it unless there was NO other option in the world open to me. But then again, my mother has HORRIBLE credit, so that would get me no where.

(1) She will find out via credit reports eventually
(2) It is a federal crime
(3) You know you're not suppose to do it and have a good concious, or you wouldn't be here asking the question.
