In charge? Hmmmm, that attitude might get you in trouble with the wife!
Perhaps your question would be more appropriate if you asked "How does a person become a responsible adult?" We'll leave the gender out of it.
Age is not a factor, as I know many 40-somethings who still aren't responsible adults and I know a few 20-somethings who are very responsible adults.
What matters is being a productive member of society - Good job, law abiding, ethical, moral, living within your means, family-oriented, honesty, integrity, and most of all being responsible for your actions at all times.

There is nothing anyone can do to make a man a man. This person has to just wake up one day and decide for himself that it is time to be a man. This usually doesnt happen until they are about 50 or 60 years old...dont wait around for it. If you allow him to not be a man, then it might never happen. Let him be alone, and see what he does. Can he take care of himself? If he cant even take care of himself, how could you expect him to take care of his family??

when he will take responsability for things and not just sit around and play video games or talk on msn all the time. guys willl always be kids at heart but when he can own up to what he needs to do then he may be a man but in reality there always kids at heart.

by accepting responsibility for your actions and words. Get a job, and start saving money to buy the things you want. Treat everyone with the respect you want, and you will be getting close.

You must take responsibility for your actions. If you have kids, you must provide for them. Sometimes you have to put your pride and ego aside to meet your obligations. That is what makes a man a man.
