I think it is time for you to move out of the house and then she won't know what you are doing.

Yeah she and your dad is a little overprotective your grown. its not like you going to go a murder someone after you see it. Know if they caught watch a rated XXX movie I know they would put you out the house. You an adult they have to realize that you not 12 your 20. But kind of see there point to they still love you and till want there baby girl to stay that way. So don't get too mad at them.

I think she still feel like you are her little kid. Try talking to her about how you feel. To prove to her that you are mature enough to watch R and unrated movies. Do more around the house and listen to her. You can also invite her to watch it with you after she give in.

no I don't , lol I had the same rules.........

My parents are easy going, never a curfew, they usually let me go abouts doing the things i wanted,

they were a very religious family, and strong on their morals and values, .... and it seemed like i could do almost anything, as long as it didnt conflict with those morals and values
which included cussing, stealing, owning buying any... "Immoral" things, or watching anything "Immoral" as well, and to them, PG 13 and higher movies, were highly "Immoral" the violence, the swearing, they felt it was something they did not believe in, and they wanted to keep their house a "Christian home"

that was their belief, and i respect that, especially as i was brought up to be a christian as well...... there was a few times i wanted to see something they wouldnt let me, and i thought it was a pain, but that passed later on as i got older....

i think when i entered high school , they still wouldnt officially "Let" Me see "PG -13" movies ......... but later on things slowly progressed, to where i would be able to see those things, but not when they were around, i was later allowed to watch them when i was older, but out of respect, if they were home or downstairs near the tv, and the movie i was watching, started having alot of cussing, or any "Adult humor" parts in it, i would change the channel, or turn it off until later, ......

there is a huge generation gap between us, these things may seem like no big deal now, and quite common, in fact we might think there is nothing wrong with it at all, especially since we are "older" now and "More mature"
you are almost my age, i'm 22, my parents grew up back i nthe 60's, my dad like, late 50's..... think brady bunch of leave it to beaver, lol that's there era......... if you ever watched those shows you'll see how different things were back then, i could imagine the shock they'd go through over how things have changed since then o.O;;;

instead of thinking about how "It's no big deal" and "They shouldnt care at all" think to yourself, okay i dont believe it is a big deal, and then think about where they are coming from and remind yourself of that........

if you were to take some of the movies we have now, and go back 40 yrs or more, o.O;;; could you imagine the reaction everyone would have? lol.....

Yes, she is being overprotective. But at the same time, she doesn't want you to be exposed to sin. Since you are still living with your parents, you should respect their decisions. Good luck and may the force be with you.

Your parents have absolutely no authority over you at 19-20 yrs. of age. Watch and do what you want - as long as you are not breaking federal or state law.

So move out and stop being a kid. Then you can watch anything you like and not have to worry about curfew and silly things like that. Of course, you'll also have to be self-supporting, remember to brush after meals and silly things like that. GROW UP

well with you still being at home all they see is a little girl!
it's hard but they need to accept you moving on!
maybe ifyou start yourlife with out them now! you won't have to deal with the role of being a mother to your mother or parents!

Good luck!

Sounds more like controlling to me rather than over protective.
