Family - September 2006

My father has never been there for me and it hurts me so bad. He left us when we were four years old and moved to Missouri. He started a new family there and treats them like gold. How many of you guys remember sitting on the front porch with your bags packed waiting on your father that never came?

He always says that he is going to send me stuff and then swears it got lost in the mail. He says he is coming to visit and then calls and says his car broke down.

Its funny because when I go to see him he is so nice to me, like he has no remorse for what he has put me through....

Why do I seek his approval still?? I am 22 years old you would think I would get the hint...

If he called today and said I am coming to see you I WOULD wait for him. Its sad! I love him so much and I love my little sisters its not their fault.

I called him crying the other day and left a message and he never called me back, so I left a message saying I am going to quit calling. what do i do?

has been living with us for the past 6 months waiting for her granddaughter to move out of her home. During this time we have become aware of how much my husband's brother's wife and children take advantage of this vulnerable time in her life. She is very capable and functional but recently widowed. The granddaughter doesn't pay the utilities, let the landscaping die, nor has she paid rent in the past 6 months. The granddaughter and her mother pay Grandmother back with cks that bounce. We are sick of it but realize there are limits to what we can do. Any suggestions besides opening up a can of whoop ***?

Since our parent has died long time ago and we don't have any close blood-relative left, my sister and I have been living together for more than 20 years.... that makes us so close... even closer than any ordinary brother and sister...

my aunt is moving out of state next month. our family is very close -she will be greatly missed. i want to get her an ID bracelet and engrave something special on it. something that says how much she will be missed and how much we love her -but in a poetic/nice way. any suggestions?

my mother died when i was 8 and im 20 now any way a few weeks before she died she was due to go to the hospital with my aunty and on the day she was having a bad day, so she had problems getting down the stairs.....so it was decided for her to go down on her bum in the middle of this my aunt came in to take her and as she came in she said to her your not ready to go any where, your make up is even on!!!!!! this same anuty 12 years on ive probably only ever seen her once her twice and now growing up and hearing these stories it really says to me that u cant choose ur family this woman has no heart, why is there always 1 black sheep to every family?

this girl next door from me plays with my child and she is very dissrespectful to every one inclueding her parents and she trun all the kids againts each other to the point that they start to cry. I tried to talk to her mom and dad but they want do a thing about it i'm trying not to put a bat to this girl head but i want this to end what should i do.

My grandson has a different father to my grand-daughter although he has been with him since my grandson was 3mth old. We know there has to be a time when we tell him the truth, the problem is when & how do we do it? My Grandson is 7yrs old & his sister is 5yrs old & my daughter is now on her own with them through no fault of her own (for 12mth now) They do see their father but not too often as he is very depressed. Any advice?

Ever since I started participating on Freewebs and got my own website there, my mom has been VERY overprotective of me. Whenever I talk to a friend on the IM, she comes up and asks me, "Who are you talking to?" Every single time!
When I had a spammer on my guestbook, I told my best friend, who told my mom, who told me not to visit my own guestbook because of the bad language. But it's my site, and I have to manage it! It's not like I was going to repeat any of those swearwords, not even in my mind. I told her that, but she still kept me from my own guestbook.
She is always on my case about Internet. I'm following a secret plan of mine to make her trust me, and I think it's working, but she still doesn't trust me very much. I'm turning 13 soon also and I don't want my teenage life to me like this! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a teenage daughter that basicly thinks the world revolves around her and her wants. She has no respect for anyone not even herself. She was not raised that way. She don't think anything about picking on her younger sister. She really don't have any friends because of her attitude and her disrespect for people. My Brother can get really wound up, he is 10 and i am 15. He will smash things throw things hit me, spit at me and stamp on my feet etc. I really need a way to sort it out because it is driving me crazy, and it hurts! No hope with mum and dad by the way. Any suggestions?

I lent my dad alot of money when i was 20 yrs old $10,000 he never fully paid me back and he took my truck away when I just put $7000 into it( I came home late one day ) so he took away my truck and he did lot of dishonest things, does that affect your relationship with men in the future and if so how does it it affect it,thanks.

ok my granmother died and left me money. the estate has been closed they said the checks would be sent out last week. i havnt got the check yet. the only reason im worried cause i have court next week and they want money and that i need the check to pay the court. so would it be rude if i called them to see what happand to the check and when they sent them out to be sure???

My mother and I have had a rocky relationship for about 6yrs she was on drugs once upon a time and during that time I stood by her side untill she got well now that she is better( I think ) she acts as if I was never there for her I have been on my own since I was 16 in and out staying with friends learning to provide for myself and it has been very hard on the streets I get so anger sometimes inside because it not fair in my eyes I am a good kid no-gangs , no police records. I feel we will never have the type of relationship I wan t so please give me some advice on how to move on in a healthy way and still honor my mother as the bible tells me to I need advice on how to release the anger in my heart so that when I am sucessful in life and she needs my help I can be there for her without resentment

My sister in law has recently let me know that she thinks I am not a good mother. I sat there and listened to everything she had to tell me without over reacting because I wanted to know why she felt that way. After giving it some thought and writing down all the things I do for my daughter and all the nice things we do together I realized I'm really not that bad of a mom. I don't know everything, I'm not the best mom in the whole wide world but I DO MY BEST. The thing is she spends a lot of time comparing her parent skills to mine. Example: I say "my girl has been a picky eater these past 2 days " she'll say "oh I nneeveeer have trouble with my son eating because I make sure blah blah blah." It seems like I'm the one with the child that sometimes doesn't want to take a bath or wants to wear pijamas to the grocery store. Its these little things that my sister in law uses to label me a bad mom because she nneever has to deal with this situation or that tantrum.
