TONIGHT I am attending the wedding of an old family friend. My parents and I were invited, but the invitation did not include a "plus one" for my boyfriend of two years, who the bride has not met. Yesterday, against my wishes, my mother called the mother of the bride and asked to have him invited, and the mother of the bride said yes, but I do not feel comfortable because I strive to follow etiquette rules, particularly in regards to weddings. Is it now rude not to bring my boyfriend?

If a married woman divorces and ends up with her lover who is an alcoholic & has nothing financially to offer her really be happy with him even though she feels she is in love with him. If her lover was filling voids in her marriage such as love & affection so she feels like she wants to be with him in the future but, is blind to the whole picture because she has never had the opportunity to be in a "living with him "situation really make that relationship work out in the end. Is it possible for her to see the light before divorcing if her lover continues to shower her with attention & affection because this is really all he has to offer? Has anyone out there ever been in this situation-divorced your husband to be with lover & then realized you made a big mistake once reality sets in. Also, can the lover ever really trust the woman who was cheating on her husband & feel he has to be on his toes from then on in for fear that she will leave him, also.

We've been sending messages from time to time. I seem to say alot more than he does. He is listed as single and was recently dumped. He knows i'm married. When we contacted each other, he seemed happy to hear from me and asked me how i was. But it seems that i say and ask more about him than he does of me, if that makes sense. So, i decided to tell him why i needed to stop contact with him because i'm married and was thinking about him and the fact that he doesn't really say too much when we do talk. Should i have told him the truth like that or should i have just stopped emailing him altogether? I actually feel better now that i told him how i felt . Was that the mature thing to do or did i just open a whole other can o worms by telling him ? Part of me still wants to keep in touch as friends but then i think what's the point. My husband is cool with me keeping in touch with old friends. But the fact that i dated this guy and started thinking about him makes me worry.

So, my mother-in-law lives on an island 4 hours away from our city. She has a flat in our city too, which actually belongs to my husband, but of course he or I would never ask to get it, it's hers as long as she lives. She comes to the flat 2-3 times a year, for a month each time. Now she just left, and she will be back in 4-5 months. I had promised a friend to cat-sit for her 2 cats for the holidays, and we thought it would be best to keep them in my mother-in-law's flat, because they would fight with our cats. My mother in law found out. I would understand to get mad and complain that we didn't tell her, but what she did instead was call mu husband crying, almost unable to speak, and say that "we can have the house", "she can rent a one-room bouse for when she comes over", that "she couldn't sleep for 2 nights ever since she found out", that she got sick, etc.

she left him. she bailed on him. left their son with him, rarely comes to visit her son, she lived 5 minutes away for the first 2 years, and only came to see her son like once every 3 months. now she lives by the san jose area and promised she would come see him every other weekend. she left the last week in august and the first time she saw him was christmas. its pretty obvious she doesnt want her kid. (she's a bit of a partier) but why does she have the nerve to be rude and disrespectful to me, and cry all the time about what she lost and "pity me" to everyone because he married me and we were only together for a few years and they were together for like 10 and never got married. Now her kid is all messed up in the head, he is being bad in school, nearly expelled many times, prolly getting held back this year and im the one who has to deal with it. cause she dont care. but she still cries all the time about what she lost.

We have been living together and I have forgiven his mistakes over and over again.
He is in his 40's and still lives off his parents!
His good points: He loves me and my kids, he can fix things, his family is wonderful and they treat me like their own.
Bad points: He is super lazy. Doesn't have a job. Lives off his parents. He also has illusions of granduer. I can't tell if he is a con artist or just stupid or mentally ill.
I don't know if i should give him another chance. I don't want to lose the handy man!
Oh, and yes. I love him unconditionally, but don't want to be with a loser anymore.

I do not understand why when two people spend so many years together they can not end it and be civil. Why must they throw comments at each other about the past. Who did what and so on. Every time we speak about the children, he says something to stir a stink. How do you deal with it?

I ask this because I was in a situation once where I basically just pointed out an observation that I had made about someone and it wasn't even a big deal, but the person completely erupted and held a grudge. I basically said that he always made a big issue out of the work that we had to do in the workplace. Another time, instead of judging him, I tried to ignore him because I didn't want to say something mean. But he asked me "why" I didn't feel like talking to him and when I told him that he was annoying, that turned into conflict. Anyone ever encountered people like this? It's a no win situation. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

between a guy with hairy legs, or a guy that shaved his legs, which would you choose? Personally, I don't mind guys with hairy legs, I mean, if it's gross, it's gross, but I think that's better than them shaving it, haha.

We have known each other most of our lives and are in our late 40's. He comes home from work every day and doesn't go anywhere until work the next day so I know he's not messing around on me. But when I ask him - nicely - about having sex he becomes almost enraged. I know he has a sex drive because he masterbates at least once daily. I am a size 10-12 so I am not obese or anything. And I am told I look ten+ years younger than I am .

We have been together for four years -- please advise..

My boyfriend doesn't get home from work until 9:30 or 10:30 then he comes home and takes a shower. By the time he's ready to settle down I'm so tired. He gets irritated with me because I want to go to bed and sleep. I get very frustrated when I'm tired so I think I'm snippy at him. Last night at about 11:00 I just wanted to go to sleep. He stayed on the couch and ended up sleeping there. Then when I get up this morning he's all pissed off because I went to bed without him. Then he went out to clear snow and when he came in he was upset that I didn't have breakfast made for him. I can't seem to make him happy. I don't know what to do. He's a wonderful man. I love him to death I just don't know how to get in his head to know what he's thinking. He left for work this morning without giving me a hug/kiss and saying "I love you"......

I hate basketball so much. I hate it with a passion. I hate it so much I'd rather endure 2 hours of torture than go to practice.

It's not that I'm bad at it, it's just that I hate it SO MUCH. My parents made me sign up for it and I've resisted and complained every step of the way. I just think it's the worst, most boring sport that ever existed. AND I HATE IT.

How do I convince my parents that I WANT and NEED to quit?!
