i really want to start wearing a hijab, but my dad wont let me. he says the only time i should wear it is at the mosque. he never fasts or prays and he says hijabs arent meant to beworn. he is not a very strong muslim, and when i treid to wear it to school he made me take it off. i dont want to sneak around with it. any advice pleaaaaaaaase!! i wish i was one of those girls who had parents who forced them to wear hijabs!!

I recently spent 2 months in Japan for my job as part of training for management so that I could be promoted in the future.
However, I had this trip of a lifetime and my wife does not want to hear about it since I got back(She read stuff on the net and thought she knew it all, but did not go there) I learned a lot and great experiences there. Also my i-laws could care less and my side of the family also does not care. they do want to see photos or anything, they said they are too busy to care.

But if any of them went there, I would want to hear their stories.
Anyways, why is my family not happy for my success?

Me and my friend are in highschool and we've known each other for a long time. Throughout the years I haven't been the most 'fashion conscious' person around, while she is... or, she thinks she is. I'm not sure. But either way, over the years she has told me the fleece sweater I had made her embarassed to be around me, to "get new shoes already" when she didn't like my sneakers (I didn't like them either, I COULDN'T buy new ones at the time but still...) and just today I was wearing this coat out. It was a really cold winter day and I'm saving up for a much nicer coat that I really want from Forever 21 but I can't yet afford it. Anyway, the coat isn't even that bad.... it's a soft-navy jeanlike matieral and is just like any other winter coat. However she comes up to me and says "Hey, so I see you're wearing your really fashionable coat today..." In front of our whole group of friends! There was me, her, and about 10 other people. I was so embarassed. Should I say something to her?

My fiance's sister got married a year and a half ago, and, although I gave her lingerie at her bridal shower, my fiance (who was in the wedding) and I never got her a proper wedding gift. We were planning to do it shortly after the wedding, but never did, and it's been hanging over my head for a long time now. I would really like to get her a wedding gift now, but am not sure how to do it without seeming tacky. I am especially worried, now that I am engaged, that she will think I am only giving her a gift in order to get one from her next June.

I know I got myself into a bad situation etiquette-wise, but what is the best thing I can do to get out of it? (I am considering getting an expensive household item -- like a set of good kitchen knives -- to give to her at Christmas and explaining to her then that it is to make up for the wedding gift we didn't buy.)

I broke up with her telling her it wasnt fair for her because I knew she got upset I didnt have a lot of time to spend with her and that I wasnt sure I felt the same anymore but I wanted to remain friends if she could and maybe things would work out later. Initially she was fine, she was crying but not angry. The next 2 or 3 weeks she continued to get angry because couldnt understand how I loved her one day and not the next, how I seemed not to be affected by it all and kept lashing out/insulted a few times. I finally cut contact and said I hated her. I regret that. I was her first love and first guy she slept with. She was also devastated when she found out 3 weeks post break up I hooked up with some other girl. I want to contact her and apologize. What do I do? I feel so bad.

I am trying to get my family together for the 1st time in over 10 yrs. I have many brothers and sisters and our life was not very happy growing up. Our dad was a religious fanatic and our mother was just downright mean and unhappy.
My parents probably should have stopped at a couple of kids rather then have all of us.
My brother was abused mentally and physically by our dad.
His wife always wants to discuss his life with us and I dont feel like its an appropriate subject matter for the holidays.
He has so many problems one of them is drinking and he knows it, but I think he needs to come to our family gathering to make peace and get closure since our parents have died.
None of us really hate each other. It always comes down to how crazy our parents were.
I have asked everyone to come and so far, several have said yes. Now do you think things will just blend in together or will we all be uncomfortable. I am really nervous about this?

I like this guy called Danny 20 well i think i do but am always nervous round him and he talks about sex he never replies to my text wheneva i say lets meet him? But his Friend Jamie

My great grandma is in the hospital dying right now and my uncle has a terminal cancer and he's dying and I'm crying a lot and I want to be alone and I want to visit my dying great grandma at the hospital and my dad wants me to come to his mom's house for Thanksgiving. He's getting ill and violent and I'm already crying over my family member's dying! Help.

I went out with my ex on/off for 2 years I lost my virginity to him. he made me upset and I wasnt sure if i was even going out with him. I needed space which made him text me about once every week for 2 months he asked me to hang out but i said i was busy after that we didnt talk it and was if we were invisible. i broke the ice by later texting him hey congratulations on winning the game he replied right away saying thanks lol i saw you in the stands the next day i texted him about homework and he told me the homework as well as saying tell your mom i say hi. i thought things were off to a better start and decided to talk to him at school. i said i told my mom you said hi shes wondering how your doing he said oh tell her im doing good.the conversation lasted 5 seconds cause we each had to go opposite ways. i didnt hear from him for 3 days.he texted me about homework and then said he didnt see me at the game and wanted to know if I'll be going to the game this Saturday. Move on?

I've lied to my boyfriend about so many private, personal things, been caught, I promised him i wouldn't ever again, but i did again .. sorry i can't go into detail what they were.

but he can't hardly speak to me, i dont know how to explain myself to him, i do it and he doesnt understand.
and he said he hates me right now
and that i should choose what i want, my old life or him.
i told him i wanted him
and he doesn't believe me or something, so i'm extremely upset
he got off the phone with me to talk to some other girl, probably about me, and whats going on
which is only making me feel worse

I'm probably going to get high, I just don't know if i can handle all of this high
but i cant hand it being sober.

I realy have noone to talk to about this
so I don't expect help. I'm kind of just venting I guess

I have been with this guy for 6 months I'm pregnant with our child and when he got with me he accepted my other 4 girls. He didn't want to work while we were together but yet he acted happy when I found out we were going to have a baby. See this is his first child.Recently he got jealous and broke up with me because I was hanging out with my brother-in-laws. In the past 2 months we have broken up 3 times this make number 3 but he has always gotten over being mad and has come home.I love him more then anything and I want him back I just feel he needs to grom up a little bit and needs to get over his high horse.
