If she's involved with someone else, would he wait around or would he just give up? I'm just curious about how guys think and wondering if they pine sometimes for the object of their affection like girls do...

Sometimes it totally sucks, I meet a great girl and she's got a BF. Well, I just move on. Maybe I'll meet her again and she'll be single but I'm not waiting for her because how long should I wait? There are plenty of other girls out there, why should I wallow in misery while I pine for a girl who's unavailable?

Depends on the guy and depends on the girl he likes. If he is smart and has any self-respect, however, he absolutely will NOT wait for a girl that is involved with someone else. That is what losers do, and the girl is probably not worth the wait anyway.

Hmm... Well I've liked the same girl for a year or two now, and she hasn't dated anyone during that period of time. She just won't date me for some reason. I know most of my friends would move on pretty quickly, but for some reason I'm having some trouble. I've tried going on a few dates, but none of them really interested me. It depends on the guy, but sooner or later, he will move on.

Yes, guys do pine. They can pine for years. But they won't sit home. They will go out and try to get laid as much as they can. It won't help them get over it, but at least they won't be sitting home alone.

Maybe if he really really liked this girl and wasn't interested in any other girl. but usually guys are just interested in a girls body and will move on if he can't have her.
