This was a really bad situation, but the circumstances were extenuating. I was involved with a longtime friend I knew from childhood. He liked me for years. Anyway, I told him I didn't want a relationship, then married someone else.

At the time I didn't know what was wrong, but I've had a medical condition most of my life that was undiagnosed. I was really ill, and I knew something was wrong but couldn't put my finger on it.

The friend had just come back from living in another province for several years. My condition affected my ability to function in every way. He was just putting his life together here, and I was so ill that mine was falling apart. I was afraid I would become a burdon to him and complicate his life, and I didn't feel he would really be able to help me.

When I met my husband he said that he would support me in every way and he has. If it wasn't for him I don't think I would have been able to put my life back together.

Please share a story. Freely describe it. I got the time to listen.

Please do not put, "we have been married 10yrs and going strong" because that is not an answer to this question. Please do not say, "it is normal to disagree from time to time" because as you can deduce that that is not an answer to the question. What I am asking is about disagreements on important issues that have been resolved through divorce. I am doing a reasearch project on love.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I've been with my bf for 4 yrs. I love him, he loves me. Im not happy, but i want to fix it. I try to talk to him to tell him and he just gets defensive and trys to manipulate everything into me feeling sorry for him b/c I make him feel like hes not good enough and he usually ends it w/ "well, thats me, and Im not changing." I know that we could fix the problems in our relationship if he was willing to work w/ me. I could cry and beg and plead for him to do something simple like celebrate our anniversary & he wont b/c HE doesnt think its a big deal. I dont understand casue I know that he loves me. Am I doing something wrong? I really dont complain that much but when I need to talk to him, how can I get him to LISTEN. All he hears is "youre not good enough" and he puts a wall up. Its like an endless cycle, nothing ever gets resolved and we end up resenting eachother for it. (At least I resent him, he wont admit that these unresolved conflict bother him but shouldnt they if he loves me!?

My husband I and go back and forth as to when we want to start our family. We both really want to have children and would love to start now except, I'm in school right now and am unsure as to if I can juggle motherhood and finishing up school. (I have about 2 years left) I'm 28 and he's 31, so I'm a little worried about waiting too long incase there are fertility problems. Finacially we're doing alright...(it could always be better though, right?) but my husband make enough to support the both of us, put me through school, pay the bills and mortgage...etc. and still have a decent amount left. Anyway how do you know it's the right time? Financially we can afford a baby, but there's a lot more to it than being financially ready. How did you all know it was the right time...or is there ever a "right" time? Thanks!

It seems that others don't find me very attractive which is most likley why I've never had a boyfriend mind you I'm only 13, but I'm cool with that. Its just that one of my best friends constantly has a boyfriend, and usually when I hang out with her she is hanging with him which creates situations of me feeling like the third wheel on a wagon. Because they're always flirting or talking only to each other. How do I cope with the matter?

I am an un-happily married man. At work there is this single girl whom I talk to and we have become very good friends but nothing more. Whenever I leave home for work I feel bad because of an argument of something my annoyning, selfish and controlling wife has just said to me. But when I get to work and see my friend all of that goes away. I think she has an idea I'm not happy at home but hasn't asked too many questions. I value my privacy and she seems to respect that. She a wonderful person and I know we'll probably be no more that friends. My question is should I tell her how great she makes me feel or should I just keep my feelings to myself. Thanks.

I had an amazing relationship with a girl, it happened to be an old time friend that I used to say hi to at the bus stop every morning. 5 years later we bumped into each other and from there on it was just beautiful, I've never devoted myself to anybody as much as I did with her and she'd always tell me how everyday she'd wake up and smile just knowing that she had me in her life. Keeping it short and leaving out all the other mushy stuff. She ended up breaking it off. The "reason"... I couldn't hear what she said on the phone one day and then reacted pretty harshly saying that i never listen to her lol. She had no good reason to offer me and asked me to understand, I told her that I'll learn to accept it but I'll never understand it. My heart was destroyed for about two months afterwards.... It's been almost a year now and just recently she sent me a text message saying "I know you don't like me anymore but I just wanted to see how things are going with you." Should I ignore?

i have this friend that has been going behind my back and my best friends back and saying that we had been calling each other sluts and all kinds of other things. She has also been starting rumors and messing alot of things up for me. I am wondering if i should use the fact that her crush doesnt like her and is scared of her to get her back. this plan includes making her believe that he likes her and then rip her heart out when she finds out that he is terrified of her.

You like a guy and it seems that after a while you two are talking online but when it comes to talking face to face, you can't find yourself to talk casually to him. Is it possible I shouldn't talk to him or maybe be more confident and just talk to him? I'm asking him all the questions and it seems like he doesn't ask me anything. So is he nervous too or just being nice and talking to me?

i am 52, single, christian and don't like the bar scenes/clubs to meet singles. I thought the there might be a good site for 50+, especially black since it seems a lot of men don't want to date black females. I am black, but look bi-racial which I am, but identify w/black culture. So its been hard to go on e-harmony,macth.com as most of the white men want Asian or white, and the black men a fewwww.

My husband and I went to visit an old friend of his. He has a wife and twin 4 year old girls. The wife was at work and the guy had a bunch of his friends over dressing a deer someone had killed hunting. The girls were filthy and dressed in rags. The house was atrocious with filthy floors, clothes everywhere, and even half eaten food (days old) lying around in the floor. The girl's toys were all torn up and they had colored all over the walls and floors with magic markers and crayons. We've been there before and the house was a mess so I know it stays that way. One of the girls finished off her dad's beer while he just grinned. My husband is mad and says I'm too uptight and judgmental because I commented on how bad it was there. He says to look at how happy they all are. Am I too uptight? My kids are teens (clean and well behaved) and my husband doesn't have kids so I can't compare if it were his kids. So am I a prude?
